This is what Alberta's Oilsands do when they're done getting oil out of the ground. They "reclaim" it by planting trees and grass and let nature do it's thing.

#3 I'm actually all for solar panels. They have come down in price over the years. If I could, I would be off the grid. My neighbour uses about 85% of his hydro from his solar panels. He has a very small hydro bill. I would love to be able to do the same. I have a big problem with these huge windmills. I'm going to find some good sources and links, and show why.

#4 Of course, the maker of this picture was probably a bit biased. I already commented as to why I posted it. Perhaps it wasn't the best choice to get my point across.

Any data on CO2 emissions in Germany? Why is Germany carrying the weight of all Europe?

Would it be different if all of Europe did the same? I don't know, just asking.

Windows kill as many birds as anything. I don't hear of anyone saying they should be banned.

    Hi Don,

FYI, you can buy solar panels for as low as $0.30 per watt in China. Average house might use 2,ooo or 3,000 watts.

#1 You won't hear any disagreement from me. My main focus on posting this was really the windmills. I work in oil and gas. If windmills kill thousands of birds (fact) nobody hears about it. If 3 birds get covered in oil, the entire galaxy hears about it. I'm really just pointing out the hypocrisy of it all. But thank you for your comment.

Yes, there is a sh!!load of oil trapped in the oil sands. Getting it out is the issue.

IMHO, oil is too valuable for plastics etc. We shouldn't waste it in our cars.

Electric cars, again IMHO, are not the answer. What do we do with those spent batteries... they don't last forever. Also, we are swapping one non-renewable resource for another.

Unfortunately, I only have questions, no answers.
