- 04/05/2016Since I posted the view of Hohenschwangau Castle earlier, I thought I'd post the shot I took of Neuschwanstein Castle, which is the more famous of the two.
Neuschwanstein Castle was built by Bavaria's King Ludwig II in the 19th century as a fairy tale retreat to honor the themes in Richard Wagner's operas.
It's a good 20 minute uphill walk to get to the castle, and an additional 600 or so steps uphill to get to the bridge where this picture was taken.
This castle was the inspiration for Walt Disney's Cinderella castle.
All in all, we had a great day on this tour in Bavaria
- 04/05/2016Here's my entry for the Maldives Contest by beBee. My wife and I love to travel. This is a shot of Hohenschwangau Castle in the German Alps taken as we were hiking up the trail to Neuschwanstein Castle (the more famous of the two). The sun broke out at just the right time.
