Today I turned on my television and the ABC network was on (I had been watching college football last). I had the privilege of taking in some hard-hitting news from ABC Nightly News with someone named David Muir I have now reconsidered my nearly two decade avoidance of network news. George Foreman was the oldest to win the heavyweight championship when at age 45 he knocked out champion Michael Moorer in the 10th round. Here he appears in his last fight at age 48 against Shannon Briggs, a fringe contender who would later fight for and win a version of the heavyweight title (WBO). Although he 'lost' the fight by decision, he was able to put on a masterful boxing display while dominating the younger man. As the decision is announced, Briggs is the most surprised person in the arena. Foreman later exhibits the class and humility that is largely missing from today's 'celebrity' professional athlete.

    Why Colin Kaepernick Matters
Why Colin Kaepernick MattersI don't follow the NFL.  I find professional football to be boring, predictable, and cautious. That's why I love college football, because it is none of the above.  Another reason I don't follow the NFL, or hardly any other sport covered by ESPN, is...

I am intentionally NOT following the blow back towards him, because I don't need further aggravation... @Tommy McElroy, MD
