Plus, @Susan Rooks registered a few weeks ago! We'll do our best to post some beBee live videos over those couple of days so you can be there with us somehow. part 2
1-Feeding other's IST could kill our own ones, so we need to make sure we discard IST are not ensuring our own personality/growth/survival.
2-Exposing IST which are not mature yet in a fierce moment/environment could kill a promising newborn
3-Everyone might have emerging IST every day. Wisdom is needed to discard the ones are not serving our purposes. Excessive pride about our own "geniality" can blur our perspective. A fail of an IST should not hinder us to produce more.
4-A bird is not an adult until it can survive for itself. So are IST too.
5-If one is in the "lower range" of the "food pyramid", one needs to produce a bigger number of IST to ensure the survival. A simple worker like myself needs to be increasing and enhancing my IST permanently in a bigger amount, so when difficult times comes, and predators like unemployment arise, I can have a chance to survive. In my case, adding to my skills of technician other skills like foreign languages and eagerly open to learning other cultures has helped me to survive, even if I had to migrate.

Dear Tausif, thank you for calling my attention to this delightful post of yours. I love your comparison birds-ideas/skills/talent (IST from now on)
As a "countryman", I enjoy observing birds. (1)Whenever small birds in the nest are making an unusual "urgent note", it can be due to a threat. Cuckoos use to place their eggs in other's bird nests, so other birds are feeding them. At first, nothing happens, but cuckoos grow faster and bigger, so it comes a time they monopolise the food and the other birds start to fight for survival.
(2)In the other hand, when there is an external threat, like a predator, little birds use to remain silent.
(3)When a bird is not going to grow appropriately, parent birds use to kick it out, so they can better feed the sane ones.
(4)When a bird is adult enough, despite they might have fear to fly, parents force them out of the nest. If they fail to fly or to do it fast enough, they die due to gravity or predators. But in no case, parents are concerned or ceasing making more birds, independently of the result
(5)Survival nature rule is intended to ensure the species. Predators use to have fewer children along their lives than predated species.
From these facts, we could consider that (see part 2)

#15 I am in full voice of agreement that people use protective mechanism my dear @Edward Lewellen and in this regard, the birds I observed under my deck were very intelligent. When it came time to leave the nest, the bravest flew out first, barely making it across the garden but finding its way to the hedge on the other side.

With one bird out and three youngsters still in the nest, the mother did not stay with the majority - instead she flew straight to the side of the brave one. The others looked across the garden and saw that their mother was not returning but staying on the hedge. One by one they spread their wings and flew and yet again for another year, the nest was empty. How bird brains beat human brains in this regard.

I fully endorse and support your observations about protective mechanisms in human beings. In what I observe from summer to summer, we have much to learn from birds in the nest - and they do leave. It is us human beings who need to learn. At least those of us who are not the cuckoo :-)

I appreciated your post very much @Tausif Mundrawala, thank you for sharing. @Ali Anani highlighted a quote he knew would interest me, "...we need to get rid of ourselves from the regressive approach where we feel relaxed residing in it." And Dr. Ali was right, as usual. What I think keeps us in this place of "regressive approach" can be found in your other quote, "We feed ourselves with enough knowledge and wisdom in order to produce something remarkable. But how many of us harness that energy to break the glass of fear of unknown." We have built the glass around this place and it gives us the illusion that we could see beyond. All we do is collect the "knowledge and wisdom", but, as you say, can not make use of it until we break through the glass, the illusion.

Dear friend, @CityVP 🐝 Manjit, people use a multitude of protection mechanisms, like the birds do with their nests. During a recent presentation, I was asked the question, "When given the choice, why do most people go towards negative thinking, instead of toward positive?" I researched this question to better understand how the human mind works and found that going into a negative mindset is a protection mechanism. I wrote a post about my research and you can find it here: https://www.bebee.com/producer/@edward-lewellen/how-negative-thinking-trumps-positive-thinking. My experience is that people who are labeled as "Introverted" use the tactic of withdrawing in order to protect themselves from further hurt. (https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/myth-introvert-edward-lewellen) So, too, people hide their wonderful and amazing abilities to protect themselves. From what? They may have low self-worth and don't believe they are as good as they think they are. They may have been told as a child to never be arrogant, and making themselves standout may be "being arrogant" in their belief system. They may believe they if they succeed at a higher level it will require more responsibility and accountability from them, and a plethora of other reasons. In the end, they are protecting themselves from some unseen, unknown result they have fashioned in their mind. There are ways to help people out of these types of thinking, the first and most powerful is to understand their Core Identity and how it differs from the roles they play.

#12 My dear friend @CityVP 🐝 Manjit- I am honored and deeply frozen in the warmth of your words. Yes, this is a paradox, but it is how I feel. I am warmed uo by your words and frozen by trying to keep the "cool" of humility and keeping my feet on ground.
This is a testimonial I shall never forget. Referring to reflective people in general, they are the magnetic needle hidden in straw. It takes effort to find the needle. A magnet draws a magnetic needle and you are the magnet in the name of manjit. Is it purely random the combination of Magnet and Manjit? I doubt.

#12 Thank you so much, Sir @CityVP 🐝 Manjit, I agree with you on all aspects that there are very few people who reflect upon the needs of the organization and to resolve the problems in a timely manner. It's a great honor for me to be felicitated by you. Thank you so much once again.
    CityVP 🐝 Manjit

The only time a creature is different from what is in the nest is the cuckoo. The people who place themselves in the nest in this context are self-reflective and possess a greater sensibility, but they do not outnumber the cuckoos in professional circles.

Reflective people tend to be a minority and I am talking about people for whom reflection is a principal part of who they are. It is not that reflective people are hidden, it is that in the work world it is not the dominant style.

There are various inventories for testing our learning styles such as Felder & Soloman

As I read this buzz I could not help notice that the only other person who exhibits the thinking style found in this buzz, is @Ali Anani and when I say that, that is a huge compliment to the quality of this buzz. In many ways I am looking at a younger version of Ali Anani and that again rare and not common approach to how one creatively thinks.

If organizations contained a greater percentage of reflective people, we would incur quite an evolution within organizations. The reality is that there are more cuckoo's Even the phrase "fake it till you make it" is indicative of the construct of organizations.

Where one will find a greater share of people with unexpressed capability that have not found their expression in cuckoo led professional world (a.k.a. cuckoo's are brands) can be found in rehabilitation places and places like alcoholics anonymous. So this idiom expressed here is a serious matter. This is what Carl Jung was trying to elucidate in his Psychological Types, but here the failure of expression is the individual identity in a society that favours the group.
