Those when the boss commanded and his team members said, yes with looking down should be put on the past. Being a leader is about team work and inspiring all the members by example.

Perfect 'Dealer' example. I bought my daughter a car for her college graduation. Like you mention, I went online and checked out different dealers and made sure they understood I was a buyer. The local dealer of the model we wanted bombarded me with emails, impersonal, automated, twice a day, pain in the neck, emails. The dealer 30 miles way called me, asked all the right questions, and then sent me an email with all my options and asked to schedule a visit to the showroom. Where do you think I bought the car? Plus the price was better. There must be a database of buyers with city of residence because the local dealer called to ask me about my purchase and why I had traveled to the next city to buy. I told him the truth. Personal, professional, catered to my every whim, service vs. a pain in the neck sales bombardment.
