We all should consider what kind of situations and terror these people try to escape from.

It is horrible that a tiny minority is responsible that a whole religion, a certain look gets you under general suspicion.

Our brains are wired in a way that it tries to protect us by looking out for similar things than the one that once has hurt or scared us.

If a football hits us in the face we will in the future back off when a basketball, tennis or golf ball comes our way.

If a red-haired guy hurts us we will be suspicious of all red-haired guys in the future.

If a group of dark looking people commits terror in several places of the world ....

The German press (Germany is a relatively small country compared to the States) does NOT try to make Muslims look bad - they try the opposite which is also not good.

Last Sylvester hundreds of Muslim men assaulted, robbed and attacked women in public places in several cities.

I do understand that people feel: If I invite a guest I expect him to be grateful or at least no abusive.

5 days ago a video went through the press of a group of Syrian refugees who randomly kicked a woman in the back who fell down the stairs in a train station.

Two days later another group of Syrian refugees set a homeless person on fire. There are too many of these stories and they create fear and suspicion.

When I read today about the next horror story I was praying it was not refugees.

Some of the people have crime records in their home countries. In Tunis, hundreds of people demonstrated against having to take them back.

You see, if you want to fight racism (which I DO) you also need to face and address uncomfortable truths.

It is not an easy to solve topic at this point. I for one, would not be able to offer a simple solution.
