    #2 Hey Jim, thanks for the comment and the response. As you can guess, I do 100% agree with you. It seems "marketing" has been hijacked by web designers and tech guys who do SEO, but haven't the slightest idea about the art behind true marketing and the discipline of good copy, and of course, knowing your customer. I'll take your advice and re-post to that hive! Thanks!

    Your banner meme says it all. I've been in advertising since god was a kid and if there's one thing I took away above all else...one thing that helped you shape your message and build your brand, it's to know who you are talking to and what they expect to hear. That one person that represents a demographic that constitutes a good hunk of your whole target audience. The big problem with digital marketing is that a lot of it is done by people who a) don't understand that very simple axiom, and b) who have drunk some kind of Koolaid that has made them believe that digital marketing is pretty much all you need to do. This is the kind of delusion that's been infecting advertisers for at least the last decade. But you already knew that. Anyway, great article...Hope it opens a few eyes. PS...you should repost this and send it to Entrepreneurs and Excecutives.
