You make many excellent points above, Steve. Yet I digress in this specific situation. I think they both should not only have been "dumped" by the Oscars but also received stringent disciplinary action from PWC, including suspension or termination. This was not your ordinary gaffe, much less a small one.
To the contrary, this was an egregious and preventable blunder of historic proportions in front of a global TV audience of tens of millions (plus tens of millions more watching on smart devices and reading the subsequent wave of negative news). It was simply inexcusable IMHO and has never occurred before up until this point.
Yes, mistakes happen and we are all human. However, there also needs to be consequences for sheer incompetence, like handing someone the wrong envelope in such a high profile situation. This isn't rocket science and any 10-year old probably could have done it right. Moreover, one can't put a price tag on the damage of this unfortunate incident to the brand image of the Oscars in general and PWC in particular. Not to mention the easily avoidable embarrassment caused to legendary actors Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway.
Heads needed to roll, as they say. Again, this was simply horrendous and inexcusable.

#1 thanks for the comments @Sandra 🐝 Smith... I still think the whole incident could have been handled better and its clear that their systems / procedures need an overhaul

I think you make a good case for keeping them, but ultimately public outcry would be too high if they were allowed to stay on. The public enjoys a good guillotining session. PS, you may know a good friend of mine who used to work at OMD, will PM you her name. Small world.

Well it would be difficult to film at Uber''s hq - difficult to get the cameras into a cupboard.

Matt, could this be a sign that beBee is likewise on its way to making billions? Albeit without FBI intervention, of course. I don't believe in coincidences, only fate. Also, perhaps you can get a cameo? Say hello to Paul Giamatti one of my favorite actors, if you see him. Lastly, perhaps you can pitch a treatment to Showtime about a program focusing on the making of a social startup. Any buzzing platforms come to mind?

Entertaining show. Not exactly sure what you mean here though. The office building will be in the show, or the actual inside office, or office and beBee logo? Can't imagine the office is a big enough haunt for the likes of the evil Bobby Axelrod (aka Damian Lewis)

#4 Now that would have ultra cool Paul! How exciting @Matt 🐝 Sweetwood that the beBee offices will be in the Showtime series!! It does appear that the 'real' FBI are roaming the streets of lower Manhattan, thanks for the tag! PS: I ran into Bruce Willis and his kids about 10 yrs ago in Bemus Point, NY- well I didn't actually 'run INTO them" ha. I just kept walking after I saw them.

That's awesome! I am wondering if they are filming today? My daughter is in Manhatten for a few days interviewing. She has been there several times and said this time it was scary-FBI are everywhere ! I'm sure she will ask one of them if they are with the FBI in her very southern voice. I will promise you, this will have a hysterical ending, as usual. 😂😂😂😂. What's really funny is her major was criminal profiling until 6 months ago and now the place she has wanted to work for years is "very scary".

Cool. I once had my offices used for a movie. I didn't know it was a big thing until I bumped into Michael J. Fox in the men's room and then threw Cyndi Crawford out of my office.
