#14 Totally get it. My partner and I have to give consideration to whether we'll be safe traveling in certain parts of this country. It's just like the rest of the world, and there are companies who do not stand to protect their customers. When we took a cruise, we were warned by the cruise line that they could not protect us if we took land excursions in certain areas. Just a sad state of affairs, and I try to remind myself that things are always darkest before the dawn, but this has been a very long night.

#7 I can't recall the name of the book, but there was a white man who painted himself black, and then entered society as a black man. Yes, despicable entries into that journal. And the disheartening and more global context is that is doesn't just apply to the neighborhood, nor the color. Bullies exert themselves on the disabled, the less fortunate, the poor, and anyone they can 'rule' over as bullies. It is sadder than sad, indeed.

I hadn't heard that the shooters were African-American, but in any case this is a despicable act for anyone to take. Shooting innocent people is never a choice or should never be a choice. And pulling someone out of a car and questioning them simply because they don't look like they belong in a neighborhood is also unacceptable. This is a free country and we are all free to travel where we choose. Unfortunately we also all have to travel with an eye to our own personal safety. Figures of authority aren't always good, and bad people can do good things. Such a sad circumstance.

When you look at Bush 2.o; it all starts to unravel - you see nearly everything the government has told you - at least since the Depression - is a bold face host of lies. And it matters not which party they are from, as they all serve the same masters. There were never any weapons of Mass Destruction - our unit had a hand in that .... trust me, there weren't. The only weapons of the power that could have been said with that capability .... were ones that we SOLD them. (that were used in the conflict with Iran - that we were funding for a decade...or three. )

We can all do a small part to care for another human being. It may be money or it may be in kind. During the fasting month of Ramadan, my school got involved in a community activity collecting donated items from the school community for the less fortunate. We then visited their homes to distribute the items. There was a prayer, and a student leader gave away the donated items to the leader of the household. One family we visited was a lady who has 8 children. Three of her children are working. Her husband had passed away several years ago. During our visit, she expressed her thanks and her kind thoughts for the goodwill. It's a community gesture for the people around us who need help. Thanks for sharing your buzz @Dr. Allen Brown.

I am pleased to be of service in inspiring free thinking debate and contemplation of our culture and leadership. We must remember that we are the ones who buy into the rhetoric. We must simply begin to say no to those who would fan the flames of hatred. Gandhi was right, non violent resistance is the way... We forget, we can simply say no I will not hate my fellow man.

#13 William, Thank you for sharing your experiences with us all. As I was conducting a training with a group of youth I took the liberty to have one of the read your comments to the rest of the group. To sum it up some agreed with you while others expressed a high degree of animation that they were going to develop a plan to make to create change in how things are ran. Just by sharing your story stimulated a debate by young people like I have not seen in many years. Just for the record these youth were locked up. Not children of soccer moms. What you went through was for a purpose. As painful as it was you lived through it. If you had not you may not have been as passionate are you were when writing your remarks..

#11 We should all be ashamed of our countries for the savagery and intolerance they inspire by manipulation of our perceptions. We should also feel rather ignorant for the fact that this manipulation is effective. We are divided by race, religion, nationalism and hatred by leadership with no transparency or compassion justified by population control and motivated by greed.
    William VanDorin
    23/06/2016 #13 William VanDorin
I have found myself in a position in which I had to rely on the compassion of others and do understand that it can happen to anyone. The experience did indeed rob me of my dignity, and damaged my self respect for a considerable time. Even donating to worthy causes seemed to have little elevating effect upon my self image. More vexing to the situation , a professional pan handler informed me he could make three hundred a day at a time when I was earning two hundred a week at a service related job! Life is rarely what it seems and people are treacherous by nature. I have been criticized in the past for handing employment agency cards to beggars, and I do not know a single vet who actually wishes to subsist on pity. Many youth claim to exist in a culture of hopelessness, but this is an attitude they have bought into.

#11 We all have a degree of shame for the actions of our countries. It makes no since that think men cannot figure a better way. How ever it is not really about the issues. Those are excuses. They fight to control the population and to make money. Just like Hitler there must be a cause that will manipulate people to put their lives on the line. It totally is stupid.

And just as Christ was prosecuted and warned us that we would also be prosecuted, let us not have any fear in ourselves or the Holy Spirit within us. For when God is with us, no one can stand against us and we WILL and ARE seeing miracles. Because God is STILL in the "Miracles Business." I wish someone could write the Policies and Procedures Manual for miracles, you know? There's a 4th dimension and I forgot to say that when I had my near-death experience (NDE), I went to the door of Heaven and felt the 'No More Tears' thereof...and God let me come back to earth to be a Mommy. Now, look! I want to be a Mommy to ALL the orphans and ALL the homeless, the widows, and the suffering. It's deep, deep down in my heart. I'll never get it out, and I'm happy to be 'me.' But could you refer me to more information on the Flashback Academy, other than its website, which does not say much about its infrastructure or Board of Directors. Can you advise if it is a recognized charitable organization with a 501(c)(3) certification? Thank you.

@Dr. Allen Brown Thank you for your kind words about my efforts being inspiring. As always, I must point out that I am just the pen. All praise should go to the Author.

It amazes me that so many cities have outlawed homelessness...which, in reality, is like outlawing getting the flu. I saw that Salt Lake City is now housing the homeless...and saving $1 million a year in social services. Imagine that...they follow God's Law, and are rewarded.

#31 The 'don't despair' was directly related to 'some people prefer to give quietly'. I think you need to re-read what I actually wrote. Pontificating? Why yes, yes, you are. And yes, a lot of women *did* die in the time it took you to fume, nearly two persons per second as I understand it.

#dale I am inspired to ready about your accomplishments. I have not had a good experience with crowed funding. I wish you continued success with your agency and the work you are doing. 36

#18 THIS is how I change the world, a tiny piece at a time. I am NOT going to die and stand before my King with NOTHING to show for my being here.. I have operated under this worldview since I was 18. I am now 57.

#18 I run a nonprofit non-registered entity through GoFundMe that sends money to Hope and Joy Ministries in Kampala, Uganda. THIS orphanage feeds, clothes, and pays for the children's education. Even though GoFundMe takes a percentage of that money, I make up that percentage out of my own pocket, , as well as pay for the Western Union fees, so that ALL THE MONEY goes to the children. I pay the overhead, so the amount you see donated IS they amount they receive, sans none. Though I am on SSD, I consider this cause to be sacred, and will cancel doctors' appointments rather than have MY personal circumstances affect them.

#31 Contrary to what Americans believe, America is NOT exceptional (except, perhaps in their propensity to endorse evil under the guise of patriotism). I no longer watch mass media here; neither do I believe what I am told without first checking out at least three uninvolved independent sources outside of the US

#31 @Margaret Aranda, MD, PhD Most people TALK about doing instead of dong. This gives them a false sense of accomplishment, and aids in their narcissistic worldview. This is especially prevalent in the US.

#18 Oh, don't despair yet, @Aleta Curry. There might be all kinds of women who died during the time it took you to write your response, having zero sense of urgency, to justify "people's" love of money. By your own theory, those "people" would actually be donating to the morgue, as they pontificated instead of "Doing." WoW.
