That sounds great Ella. Yes eye contact is the second most important aspect with kids For me knowing their name is the most important. Let me know how your handshaking goes "I love The Solution Focused Approach! "we" love M. Erickson!" Me too. I use it a lot.

Thanks for the sharei Louise Smith ! Interesting! I think I'm doing this in a very, very tiny way when I shake the hand of all kids in class and always wan to catch their eyes. Sometimes I have to bend my head, go to my knees and lean over, just to see a glimpse of the kids eyes and to make them see I'm smiling at them. I adjust my voice and my handshake to the' kind of' kid I have in front of me: brave, bold, quiet, serene etc. It's a good way to start the day as a substitute! Sometimes I get a hug from a 12 year old when I shake all hands again when the day is done! PS I love The Solution Focused Approach! "we" love M. Erickson!
