So, event planners, as we approach the end of Q1 2017, how has business been going this year?

    - Has your business been impacted by the political uncertainty in the USA and Europe?

    - How about hotels? Are you still attracting a lot of corporate meetings, incentives, and conferences with overnight stays?

    - Any changes from 2015 or 2016?

    - Noticing any new trends?

#5 There is a specialty coverage package for professional events, wedding and party planners. The Liability Insurance coverage is designed to provide protection for where you, the insured, must defend yourself or your company against lawsuits or pay damages for bodily injury or property damage to third parties. Accidents and mistakes can happen. There is also Professional Liability coverage in case a customer or a third party is unhappy with your services. When I was an underwriter, there were claims related to this profession.

#4 @Franci🐝Eugenia Hoffman, beBee Brand Ambassador If this is going to become standard practice across the board then we all have to raise our rates to take care of this. Soon smaller firms will be charging as much as large ones. I can't understand why the event planner should be required to have insurance when they are planning a corporate event. Now if it is an event that they are organizing, advertising, and inviting participants, then it makes sense.

I wonder if wedding and private party planners are in the same boat.

Pretty steep. Perhaps, something occurred in the past that raised a red flag. It doesn't surprise me they are requiring proof of insurance.

This was the wording on the contract:

The contract is between the client and the hotel:

    "INSURANCE

Each of us agrees to carry and upon demand to provide to the other evidence of a sufficient amount of insurance to provide coverage for any liabilities arising out of or resulting from our respective obligations pursuant to this Contract. You further agree to provide us with evidence of insurance from any contractor,
vendor or service provider retained by you. Such third party shall maintain, at a minimum, Commercial General Liability insurance of at least $2,000,000 per occurrence for injury and/or death and property damage prior to commencing work or services. All insurance required under this Contract shall name us, our owners and XXXXXXX Limited and its subsidiaries as additional insureds."
