8Chan - Moving the Goalposts and the Streisand Effect

The objective is "division,"deflection, distraction. Know this. Moving the goalposts: A common metaphor for moving the focus of an argument to another position (usually after being found out).I contend that MSM and their digital arms are no longer...

Interesting piece. I share your thoughts in the competing straw men that seem to crop up around various environmental, social and generally macabre events.

It would seem the public would want to know the facts surrounding events to better digest the event. However media channels tend to show the cause and effect model against the opponents to the belief systems.

My personal thoughts is that we take tragedy, and amp up already red zone emotions in the public, and deflect them onto a person place or thing. Obfuscating critical thinking by the public.

Emotional channeling for ratings or votes.

Lyon, Where does it say that you can't be a citizen of the world. We need more resourceful, resilient people like you that lead by example. Thank you for being you.

My parents named me Corentin, I don't know if it was a reference to a long gone king or to a founding saint who got Brittany's heart pounding. Anyway, I am Corentin G. Seven hundred and eighty. That's the cell number of the prison where I am meant...

You end with a perspective I've always held; once upon a time they were but mere babes;
And then the question; what happened.?
A group of 'good' people explained it me; "Everyone is born into evil", but that's not the same is it?
People aren't born evil, they are born into it.
What evil were they born into? That is the question to answer; what corrupted the innocent?
It isn't always traumatic, sometimes it builds with time, a daily flailing of innocence until it's gone
Do we excuse the evil because their innocence too was corrupted, lost?
How do we end the cycle when distorted nature/nurture is perpetuated through the generations? Does corruption become part of the DNA?

How amazing it is when we express an emotion(s) and once it is done we move on to other emotions which also need to be expressed - and then realize that this is what being human is about - being and doing and feeling and discovering and continuously moving on to whatever is "other" in us and around us. I just pray that being evil to each other is not an ingrained dimension but rather an anomaly, an aberration, a virus, an alien illness that can eventually be extricated and dissolved into nothingness. Hope lives powerfully in the soul of those who endlessly wonder. (Me thinks my mind is wandering now. . . )

Dear Lyon,Always stirring the embers. Love it!The beginning of the beginning of equity - in the area of respect - is not in the recognition that women are more but rather that men are not. I cannot pretend to understand what women still go through...

Bernard, your mother sounds like a wonderful woman. I am very happy you decided to share some details about her and your life with us. Your writing style really shines when talking about her. I can really invasion your life and home. There is a poetry to your words when talking about your mother. It takes on such a peaceful and poetic story. I actually think it could be made into a movie. "At 16 she sang on radio until her father discovered that the voice he was “enjoying” was his daughters. . .) And since only “loose women” went into the entertainment business, she was never "allowed" to sing professionally again. . . ." I really like the person you described your mother to be and yes, women need good men to fight beside them of course we do.
