    #1 In this world of international markets I am not against outsourcing. However, when companies get tax breaks for being in New York to stimulate business and jobs, then go an outsource some positions, I see this as illegal and morally wrong..

    I think there is nothing wrong with a business making decisions that have a positive impact on the bottom line. In an ideal world, yes, I am sure the decision makers would love to support the community around them, and this factor has to be weighed against the pros of outsourcing, but very often the advantages of outsourcing are just simply too compelling. That said, I know of some global banks that outsourced customer service to India only to reverse the decision when customers were complaining they had difficulty understanding the dialect. Many banks (like HSBC) aswell as the hospitality and tourism sector are outsourcing customer service to the Philippines and this appears to be working well. As long as companies act within the legal framework taking into consideration tax/incentives, we cannot blame them for acting in their best interests.
