- 27/07/2016Ladybugs are lovely. Europeans fondly name them 'lady beetles' or 'ladybird beetles.' With over 5,000 species in the world, there is much to be told as they are uncurled for us to swirl in their all being a 'girl.' Or are they? Ahh....
Poetically, there are 'two sides' of the 'ladybug' coin. On the one hand, many varieties are beloved by farmers, as the ladybugs consume aphids, the insects that destroy their crops. Laying literally hundreds of eggs at a time inside the aphid's abode, thee larvae are instantaneously hungry when 'hatched.' Whoah! Look out, aphids!
The 'eewie' ladybugs kill crops and the hearts of farmers, whose sweat turns to fret. Enter, the "Mexican bean" beetle, and the "squash" beetle. Poor farmers on their heels? What do they feel?
"Oh, but I don't have crops. I just have my own garden, and I live in the city, where it doesn't affect me." Oh, challenge be told, if I can be cold, as you must know that you are cold.
Go buy them in a box from your local nursery ~ and that would be in the "Refrigerator" Section. Then, watch your garden grow as you 'let them out' in the dusk, leaving you with untold roses to smell as sweet as musk.
And I won't say that I told you so.

First, I am deeply indebted to your lovely dedication of a hive whose vibrations resonate with me.Second, for igniting my mind of a new idea to contribute soon to this hive. Third, to write with such beauty on a topic that is close to my heart. You know, you made me feel jealous of myself27/07/2016 #1 Margaret Aranda, MD, PhDLetting you know that ladybugs represent the whole of science and poetry to behold and unfold. Hive dedicated to @Ali Anani who told me I could to this, and whom I love like no other bee but don't be jealous, as there's plenty of love to go around (in case you have not noticed lol). To those who can add a dimension they didn't know they had: @debasish majumder, @Mamen Delgado, @Franci Eugenia Hoffman and more. Forgive my brain ineptitude and please do not brood, if I have inadvertently appeared archduchy.
