Don’t Worry, Give Thanks

Don’t Worry, Give Thanks

When I was young, I loved to listen to a song called “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” by Bobby McFerrin. I loved this song, yet the lyrics had always given me a mystery in thought. The question I had was, “How can I not worry, and just be...

The book of Jeremiah is a great book to read. I agree that we work, and like most people I am usually watching myself. The prophet Jeremiah is a great example of this. Though we fail God, He is patient with us, working in us to bring about the best for our lives. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." - Jeremiah 29:11 I am always looking at a destination, yet I sometimes forget I'm walking using "God's GPS". It may be so I can witness to someone, or have a experience to share to someone in the future. I do know while I am working, God is always working, because he is in my heart. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." - Proverbs 3:5-6

I don't watch god at work. I watch myself at work. This does not mean I am not thankful for opportunity, but much of the opportunities I have, even if small, i created. I fought for. I created them, not god honestly. I worked towards what I have. I have faith in myself. My power is in knowing this. That i am responsible for my life and not a higher power.

Agree and Disagree. Yes, Christ is the Truth. Yet, Satan does not control anyone. He does put sinful thoughts which are temptations and often something hard to struggle with. Sometimes we have no control as to what thoughts enter our minds, however we are able to take control of these thoughts. God's Word's help us to recognize our thoughts for what they really are, and how to act (or not act) upon them. We use the Truth or the Bible help control our thoughts in a way God encourages us to. I believe that any initially thought of sin is planted by the evil one, thus temptation and not a sin. Yet, any action and choice to kept pondering upon that thought is our own choice. I don't believe that people are "brainwash". They just fear the light because they are ashamed to admit their sinfulness, so they will coward in the darkness or sin.
