Great song by Slim Harpo. Sound familiar? It should. The Rolling Stones did their version on Exile on Main Street, my favorite Stones Album. Originally written by Slim Harpo and released 65-66

Most often the main instrument for blues is the guitar, harmonica (harp) or piano, or some combination. It's not that other instruments aren't involved, because it's not uncommon to have a horn section for accompaniment. Occasionally a saxophone plays the lead role, but other brass, not so much.

Here's blues harmonica legend Little Walter with a 45 minute album length harmonica based set of selections.

Let me remind you that although all this stuff is available on Youtube, if you dig the music, how about buying some of the releases of your favorite blues artists. Even if the artists have passed on, at minimum, it let's record companies know that there is still a market, and of course, support your local musicians when you can.

This video diary entry is raw, real and very honest. http://www.outthinkingparkinsons.com/video-blog/music You will see me break down and cry and release other emotions. This is, I feel now, my most important and special contribution so far. If just one piece our Out-Thinking Parkinson's journey does survive into posterity, I hope it is this.
    Powerful stuff indeed.

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO ALL THE GUITAR HEROES? Are you big in showbiz? Perhaps you're a rock legend? Do you still believe in the Music? We're holding out for a Hero. We've created a smash hit and proven that Music and Dance Therapy can HEAL people with Parkinson's. Now we need a Backing Singer to help The Song be heard by millions of people affected by Parkinson's all over the world who have forgotten the music. Reading this but not a rock god? Then join our Choir and raise our voice by sharing this Song on.

Here's another version of Walking Blues which is one of my alltime favorite blues tunes, which is good because it's probably been done by a zillion blues folks. This version is with Sonny Landreth, who is clearly NOT Canadian from his accent (but appeared on a CBS blues artist show posted eariler, but THIS version has Ana Popovic (love those female blues guitarists, and Layla Zoe, vocalist. From Europe.

This is such a phenomenal piece of music, @Joanna Hofman. And the orchestra seemed so enlivened. I really enjoyed it and it does seem to necessitate comparison to the dance of a relationship. I can't wait to see @Gary Sharpe practicing his conducting to this!
