The problem with appetite suppressants is that if you are working out, you cannot build muscle without enough nourishment and that, in turn negatively affects your body's natural ability to increase metabolism. I feel very strongly that most weight and weight related health problems can be reversed through a vegan or vegetarian diet. If you cannot eliminate meat entirely from your diet, then you should at least reduce the number of days that you eat meat. Also watching your carbohydrate consumption is very important. In my opinion, a combination of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), and a healthy diet with some regulation of meat and carbohydrate intake is best for weight loss. When it comes to weight loss, diet is 80% of the equation, but starving yourself should never be an option. Appetite suppressants should be illegal.

We also work in a highly regulated industry, education. I am sure pharma has many more layers but regulations that are thick can be ominous. I have found when it comes to regulations interpretation is everything. By this i mean what is the regulation attempting to accomplish.

In many cases i have worked with regulated organizations and the technical aspects of regulation become the focus. This perspective makes staying compliant near impossible. As you stated between inspections compliance is relaxed.

In our business model we look at what the regulation is trying to achieve and use that as our goal. We went down the road of compliance by code and QC that was centered around the code. This exercise was difficult to maintain. Making quality our objective and incorporating the compliance standards under the goals empowered our staff to meet goals not standards.

The word compliance seems to draw a very negative perspective from most. Not sure if its a control thing or apathy towards the inspection process. But using compliance standards as your basis for setting meaningful goals helps keep you ready for inspections.

I concur with this. Some companies think it’s a smart way to hire menial production labor, and slot few classroom sessions to train them. That’s not cost effective strategy. Prevention is always more cost effective then cure.

Your post sends a very important message. Safety in any workplace should be a priority. During my days as an insurance underwriter, part of my duties included underwriting Workers Compensation. One can only imagine what kind of claims can arise from a workplace. A lot of claims were due to lack of guidelines for the employees.
