Well done. Humbled by your example. A profound way to experience and gain Insight and knowledge about the world around us that far too often lurks in the shadows and anonymity of others realities. Continue to make a difference; one step--one person--one traded place at a time.

#15 I am most livid at the child abusers in this world, and so sorry you had to go through that. But..on the positive, look at how many you are saving now. It is massive! Your undertakings, hopes, and dreams sure do make you a real-life hero to many. And that's why I love working with you on GrassrootsTalks Radio and here's to More for the Poor! One at a time, we can do it!

#15 What a wonderful project. I'm so sorry to hear of your story @Dr. Allen Brown but happy to hear you've taken your experience and shaped it to help others. Yu are so right, every person is just one paycheck away from being homeless and it's sad that some will never understand that concept.

I have been their, I was abused often as child. I ran away 15 times before my 15 birthday. I slept under freeway ramps, bus stops, empty houses and worse. I know what it is like to be subdued as a 13 year old boy thinking the guy was going to show me how to survive on the streets on my own. Only to be pent down during the night and be repeatedly raped. Now forced to carry the emotional scares with me for the rest f my life. Yes I have an agenda to gather as may people as I can these 100 plus people out here to give them a day or two of relief fro the clod and the dangers of being exposed to the elements day after day. Yes Loribeth I can be homeless. And many Americans are only a paycheck away from it also

#11 It's not a Church issue, you're perfectly right @Max Carter. It's a humanism issue. Everybody's overly busy with themselves that they forget how to be a human. If there is anybody who didn't see the movie "Fisher King" by Robin Williams, I strongly suggest to see it ASAP.

This is a huge and incredibly worthwhile undertaking @Dr. Allen Brown. My heartfelt thanks to you, and your volunteers, for taking the time to understand the life of the homeless. I can only think, hearing your story, of the phrase from English Reformer, John Bradford - "There but for the grace God go I."

Thank you, so very much, for what you are doing. I faced the streets a country away from my family and support system, alone, on the heels of an abusive relationship and being my own worst enemy. My plight was blessed because I found stranger angels like you and forward I went. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Words alone can't convey it...

As someone who has been homeless for 2 years now, I think this is a great thing in order to gain perspective on why it is so important to quit making the homeless issue a Church issue and making the societal issue it really is.

First of all, I am really and really proud of being a friend of yours, @Dr. Allen Brown. In past, I've spent nights and nights with homeless people under some famous bridge in Istanbul, other than the nights I've slept with more twenty cats at a time. When nobody was around, the streets were friendly with those people who shared their extremely meager belongings, with smiling and unselfish faces. And even now, at this age, I can still feel the impact they left on me with their human touch, over my life experience. I had done it deliberately to get to learn their lives, and there were amazing talents and wisdom among them. When one has such an experience, I can say that life will never be same for them again. This is not a gift only to those homeless people, but also a very deep and profound spiritual gift to those who attend.

This is a very commendable thing to do @Dr. Allen Brown. It is really difficult to know what another person's life is like until you experience it yourself.
