Totally agree with you...recruitment industry is getting "dehumanized" not because of the digitalization or emergence of AI or machine learning, but rather due to the lack of empathy, common sense/logic, and professionalism among us. While working as a Talents Sourcer (from 2013-2017), before accepting any projects, my MD and I would do our best to highlight and discuss the requirements set by the employers/hiring managers (our clients). Oftentimes, those requirements would either be too rigid or consist of biases or out of this world or be discriminating values (age, gender, ethnicity etc) which resulted in candidates piled into gray areas. ATS supposedly to make our jobs easier but to rely 100% on ATS by pushing aside our judgment/common sense, instinct and empathy would create the same piles of gray. In short 1) "be human and humane" 2) get rid of "the 6 seconds scan" of resume/CV...we are not a scanner! 3) Call, communicate and engage with candidates regardless they are not your Top 5 Cvs!!!
