Retail Management

~ 100 buzzes
A process of promoting greater sales and customer satisfaction by gaining a better understanding of the consumers of goods and services produced by a company. A typical retail management strategy for a manufacturing business might research the retail process that distributes the finished products created by the business to consumers to determine and satisfy what buyers want and require.

Unfortunately, I see Apple going down the same path as Microsoft. I see a deterioration in their products and software. I wish I had never upgraded my iOS from Mavericks to El Capitan and I certainly will not upgrade to Sierra (I have read several early reports of issues with it). They let me download Mavericks again, but, they won't let me install it. How asinine.

I am Apple all the way. I love how they are able to create emotional connection and loyalty. Also love their quality, their storytelling and the simplicity and straight edge.

That they offer outstanding free customer service and make people feel valued is interesting to learn. I don´t have that experience. i guess the offer in the stores differs from what they offer online, where the free support is limited to a very short period of time. In that limited short period of time, the support is outstanding, though.

@Ken Boddie, I can't tell you how many times I've accidently hit the minus sign instead of plus sign when using the keyboard on my phone. I hope I've caught it each time ;-) I begin clicking like mad to undo the minus I accidently gave someone, it works, thank goodness. Close

Gosh, I am typing this on a desk with no less than 6 Apple products. I would suggest any floundering retail outlet to take a trip to Tokyo where customer service is truly embedded in the culture, and then take a trip to China to see how not to do it!

Sounds like that missive was crafted by the Australian Department of Obfuscation (which is situated right next door to the Department of Silly Walks).

The world of retail (and everything else) is rapidly changing, whether we want it to or not. Those who stand still, will get run over.

And the scariest part? The change isn't driven by the practical Boomers. We had our chance to change the world... it's the Millennials that get to decide.

... and you thought Fright Night was last night?

I spent a few days working with an art director from Ireland who completely opened my mind up as to how to pitch properly, Over the years I've felt more and more that people make a habit of speaking business AT you, in a hope that it sort of overwhelms the potential client - I've found a far more effective approach was to learn how to have business conversations rather than standoffs

I like this suggestions @Toby Marshall I also think that how you communicate your problem solving product is important, if you give a speech as how you are the hero that came to save your customers maybe it won't be that well received than if you orient it to a more humble approach.

I agree @Steven Davies it is not about explaining everything you can to the customer and sometimes the client doesn't even care about what you have to say about all the process or even characteristics of a product. It is about how you'll leave a mark and the client feeling something about your brand, product or even yourself as a trustworthy professional selling the product or service they -need-. Great share!
