Dr Margaret Aranda: Possible Scammers

~ 100 buzzes
Get a suspicious Follower who asks suspicious questions? That's what started this Hive. I was offered a job / so were 10 others. What was wanted? For starters, my personal email address.

Another suspicious Inbox mail arrived to another female, Oh! You just won $9 million USD?!

It could be fraud, a big problem in the USA. And I saw that others encountered the same problem from the same person.

Especially for us women, I feel we need protection. Informing one another of possible or blatant scammers is American freedom and not a system for abuse. Let's make that clear.

So here's a place to assist beBee Administration (if they decide to look) with complaints seen as potentially harmful to women (and men, okay). It's just easier for an 'eye'-Bee Team to keep track and have a central station as an outlet.

CyperScamming is too complex for algorithms written by world experts. But one thing is clear: women on beBee need to feel protected. So we're just keeping opened eyes, not being blind. Because it's a lot better this way - to work as a Team.

One of the fastest growing types of cybercrime is ransomware — a spooky attack in which hackers remotely breach and freeze the contents of your computer. They threaten to destroy all your files — usually within a day or two — unless you pay a "ransom" in untraceable digital currency like Bitcoin.

Mobile devices are not always viewed as being as exposed to threats as PCs are. Especially the elderly are extremely vulnerable (on desktop and mobile) to all types of exploitation. I am glad to see a regular news channel picked up the topic and I hope this became (or becomes) part of their newscast. It is more challenging to reach this particular demographic as their consumption of news is still based on the more traditional sources. These traditional outlets in turn struggle more than new media to keep their viewers/readers up to date on digital threats.

Ran across this interesting article, and of course surgeons still throw instruments across the Operating Room.

    "Who can help?

Besides confronting that person, management would be the next in command. If management is ineffective, human resources would be next. But there is always a fear of retaliation.

Some institutions have zero tolerance. This behavior is not accepted. The EAP (employee assistance program) is recommended for the victim and for the bully. EAP is a counseling service offered by many hospitals to their employees. A probation period may be recommended for the bully.

Hospitals that implemented zero tolerance, have seen a 50 percent change in the climate of the unit, for the better."

I think I'd like to know more about this EAP. Never heard of it. "50% change in the climate...for the better." ~well. That perks my interest.

The other problem is the hours and sleep deprivation. So not only do we have to be worried about equipment being hacked which include data being stolen and dosing manipulation we have to be concerned with this kind of poor coping mechanisms. Which only creates an environment where no one can think straight and everyone is stressed including the patient.

Wow, what a great narrative. Takes wisdom to look beyond the now and see something deeper, more meaningful. The story of the toddler climbing the couch being a deeper meaning metaphor of life. This is one of those stories that fills my consciousness as I run my favorite course. Glad I found it here in BeBee.

#24 So far, it is welcomed by people who have been victims of Scammers. There are all types. In the USA, Western Union, for example is finally under fire as millions of women apparently have wired billions of dollars to Scammers, all in the hopes of finding love and marriage. So, it's great if you have never been bullied or scammed - this isn't to point fingers at individual people - when taken in the context of the first article placed in the Hive, one should be able to objectively see that one email affected not just 2 or 3. It was a group effort. Statistically, if one customer complains, that represents ?10 or 100 or 1000 others that felt the same way yet did not have the self-confidence or experience to complain. I'm offering support and resources, education and awareness and am pleasantly pleased that this gains attention. Be on the lookout as I will also be discussing child abuse, suicide, malnutrition, clean water and other subjects in the medical/health profession that are regularly discussed in international medicine, psychiatry, adult or pediatric subjects. ;). Always appreciate input & encourage all to use their Mute buttons, UnFollow. Thank you so much. This is a personal Hive. I will run it professionally, according to Hippocratic Oath and Stanford medical ethics. Please be sure of that. Troubleshooting this issue has already resulted in this "Fast Track" Solution as @Juan Imaz refers people go to support@beBee.com and/or cc @Adriana Bevacqua García or @Cristina Valmaseda de Leiva or @Virginia Silveira. Truly appreciate all. @Franci Eugenia Hoffman. Original Post by @Deann M. Harrity ~ caused its own stir, hence the birth of the Hive.

hmmm not sure about that one there are some scammers alright but I think it is up to the site to manage this we should not have to set vigilante or self appoint ourselves as bebee police there are also other considerations such as defamation, bullying etc.... to take into account I understand the logic but personally I refuse to participate to this, it is up to @Javier beBee / @Juan Imaz and their team to set up policy and enforcement of their T&Cs :-)

It is only when people like you and @Phil Friedman take their valuable time to imbibe by contemplating, cross-pollinating, and watching out for 'wasps' do we really see that it's not just about Scammers, now, is it? There's so much more. So I'm glad we got started at infrastructure and foundations, as that is worthwhile in all areas of life. Making the honey sweeter with each comment ...is a great thing. To elaborate on Franci @Franci Eugenia Hoffman's comment, unfollowing is the same process on desktop. Sometimes we follow people that maybe we shouldn't have. It's hard to tell people's intent upfront. I almost always give people the benefit of the doubt. But if they cross the line, I'm quick to unfollow.
