Very nice piece. I played competitive softball for thirty years until my knees were destroyed. And I'd do it all over again not changing a thing. I was always amazed how far some of my balls traveled when it felt like just a click on the bat. Nothing better than hitting that sweet spot and admiring one go over the fence. Thank you for bringing back those precious memories.

Good day to post this with the baseball classic starting today. I also played senior baseball in my thirties in Toronto, as a pitcher, and then they allowed the younger guys to play, and...well, I got old real fast. And my fastball got slow real fast, too. And my knuckle ball left the park even faster.

    Great times.

Insomma, alla fine, come dici tu, mediocre proprio no. Una persona d'altri tempi, sempre signorile e garbata.

Thanks for the good read, Jacob -- and thank you for tagging me @Donna-Luisa Eversley. I'm also reminded of that saying in sports: winners never quit and quitters never win. I've personally found that perseverance and a positive mindset are two critical elements to reach any goal that might appear out of reach (among other factors). I'm not a fan of the Patriots or Tom Brady but their comeback win certainly made a historic statement per NFL Super Bowls and games generally.
