Eating ORGANIC PRODUCE doesn't have to be pricey...

Learn how on WED, 5/17, @330pm PST

"LOW COST Supermarket Alternative to buying ORGANIC Produce"

    Link to upcoming show:
    http://www.blogtalkradio.com/wellybellys/2017/05/17/low-cost-supermarket-alternative-to-buying-organic-produce

Every day more and more people are wanting to eat healthier yet their biggest complaint or hurdle is that they can't afford to do so or that it's too pricey. While others would say that's an excuse or choice instead of taking accountability on how we spend our money.

We're not here to talk about all that but instead offer some solutions. Joining me is Alan Ritter, Founder of Produce Club, discussing how and why he created it along with tips for listeners to start something similar in their own communities.

Mr. Ritter holds a PhD in chemistry and is a former teacher before he embarked on his journey to help ease the transition for others to live a more "fruitful" lifestyle and help heal our collective home here on Earth. Alan deeply cares about how plants are raised and its nutritional effects.

Together, we really can be the change we wish to see in our world!

#4 I would try a crust made of gluten free/nut free cookies...just place them in the bottom to form the pie shell. The strawberry topping will 'soften' the cookies to make a nice crust.

Loved this article! Congrats on changing your life through food. I agree, many people in our society find a vegan lifestyle extreme but somehow don't find the idea of living a life on medication (due to poor diet choices over time) or having a surgeon cut your chest open for bypass surgery extreme. To quote a vegan advocate that I follow- Kristina Carillo-Bucharem, " I believe in the power of fruits and vegetables."

#1 Good call Brian, this recipe uses vegenaise but guac could be a lovely substitute. No fish whatsoever, just a buzz word for the texture and a reference point for meat eaters ;)

I don't think you can call this 'tuna' - even with the quotes - when there is no damn fish in sight. PS - the guacamole substitute for mayo has been a long standing tradition in my kitchen. I don't like that white yick in my food.

#7 They really are delicious. Truthfully, zucchini is not one of my favorite vegetables, but I got in the habit of making these years ago because I wanted to bring new vegetables into the family repertoire so that my daughter would be 'forced' (so to speak) to try one new veggie at at time. She ended up really liking them, so of course I made them and eventually acquired more of a taste for zucchini.

#5 James, I've never tried it with other veggies, but I can't imagine it not being good, although probably better with eggplant (because of its texture) than cauliflower.

Yum, they look good, I love zucchini (or Courgette as I know it) Would this work as well with other veggies, like aubergine (sorry egg plant) or Cauliflower?

#1 Of the thousands of recipes up at my business web site, this is one of our clients' favorites ESPECIALLY because it's a great one for kids. It's tough enough to get many young kids to try new veggies. But, the crispy on the outside and the soft texture on the inside, is always a hit with kids.
