I was waiting to hear this, I hate diets! I rather do exercise and take care of what I eat, when, and how much. Learning to listen to my body and what it tells me that I really need has been one of the best experiences.

#2 Yes, I experienced some coaching processes or transformation projects as the center where I went liked to call them. Being conscious and staying that way (even with fall backs every now and then) is one of the best things that I got from there. Another one is, that we can always learn something new about ourselves

#1 Thank you Catalina. Yes, people operate very much on automatic behaviour (learned and programmed into the subconscious) so often people dont realise they're following bad behaviour patterns. Once you stir things up subconsciously, things settle into place much more easily.

All of them very important tips to follow. I tried to organize them ir order of priority for me, I couldn't. they all have the same importance and I don't know why some seem so difficult sometimes to accomplish. Some days it's difficult of get out of the routine and automatic mode I guess. Thank you for all these well thought suggestions Richard

#1 Absolutely, Lisa Lee. Routine blood screenings, relaxation techniques, monitoring your blood pressure and cholesterol levels are excellent heart attack prevention tips. Since women are at a greater risk of suffering from heart disease and/or heart attacks, we would greatly benefit from regular blood, glucose and cholesterol screenings. Prevention is key. Thanks so much for providing your feedback!

Hi @Aretha Perkins, B.A.thank you for this articles I really didn't know that there is more risk for women to get a heart attack. Would it be good to include two extra prevention tips: 1) Get checked once a year with a blood exam 2) Get 6 to 8 hours of sleep. I think resting is very important for everyone's health.

'Meternity Leave' vs 'Maternity Leave' - a massive mistake?
'Meternity Leave' vs 'Maternity Leave' - a massive mistake?Ex-magazine editor, Meghann Foye, was so jealous of her co-workers being able to claim maternity leave that she decided that she needed a break. One problem. She didn't have kids. So instead, she wrote a book called 'Meternity' which loosely...

If organizations were to change the way they valued employees and allow them to stay engaged at work by routinely disengaging from work, then the need for work-life balance could be an issue that united rather than divided women and men who have and do not have children. In other words, if all employees were expected and encouraged to have fulfilling lives outside of work then they would not be in competition for personal time.

I don't think that having a kid is a full-time job because you choose to have a kid, it's no need to have it, but you DO need a job.
I can also understand that maternity is a hard time in life, as you say, crying, cleaning,.. but what happen with the workers who don't have kids? They also need some time away. Or for example, here in Spain, if you get married you have 2 holiday weeks... I'm seriously thinking about it....

I think she likes to create the controversy. I mean, having kids is not like a hobby or having a break, it is the opposite and all the rest of people are in the same situation of feeling that you need a break. If you need a break, take vacations that is what they are made of, all the rest of us are in the same situation. If you need a longer break, then plan it but I don't think that you'll have one by getting pregnant. Great buzz I'm sure it'll make a lot of bees make a reflection on this matter @Steve Blakeman

Thanks for commenting! I think Meghann's mistake was to compare the two. Me time is in no way similar to maternity leave. The equivalent would be a sabbatical for people who are stressed, bereaved or burned out which is totally justifiable but not comparable
    Navinya Lee
    10/05/2016 #1 Navinya Lee
I definitely dont think the two can be compared! Maybe what Meghann should refer to is booking a holiday and having some "me time" away from the pressures of work.

We are creating a Whatsapp group for Women Only, called "The Beauty in Life" to share tips on Personal Grooming, Health, Parenting Skills etc. It is easier to check quick tips on the go, than logging into networks.

Since most of you come from beauty and fashion related backgrounds, you are most qualified to share tips with the group, and promote your business. Those interested can be appointed group admins, and you can add your female associates in the group.

Please inbox me your Whatsapp numbers, if interested. I would advise against sharing numbers on open platforms, as they are likely to be misused.
