Therein lies the real problem! Politics is only a game now. Politics was never supposed to mold anything. Our government is another story. Our government has only one responsibility ... to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. It should not matter who is elected President. The office of the POTUS has the same control and responsibility regardless of the person ... or it should. Our irrational fear over the candidates is a fear created and delivered to us by politics. Dividing the people is part of the political game. Keep us fighting each other while the people we elect/hire to represent us, instead get into office and immediately tell us how they cannot tell us what they are doing (and we cannot ask) and set up rules to punish anyone that lets us know what is really going on. How many of "WE THE PEOPLE" are voting this time not for someone we want .. but instead against someone we "fear". About a 50/50 split. "Our" government loves it. We are so easily manipulated. Seriously ... they are egging us on to be name callers, to see each other as deplorables, or elitists or whatever groups they want us. They are the ones spouting hate, encouraging name calling, bullying and demanding the end of diversity of thought. This is OUR problem. Us. We the PEOPLE ... are the only ones to blame for allowing our government to get out of control. I sense we are waking up though. There are those of us who are not afraid, are not dependent and we are waiting for others to wake up ... and will be there to help them regain their happiness and remember what it is like to not be afraid, to not be told how to think, what to say ... and who to vote for. The Constitution of the United States was the direct result of our effort to get out from a government run amok. It was crafted specifically to LIMIT THE GOVERNMENT by ensuring that the PEOPLE had power ... not the other way around.

Good for you for standing up and saying this. We have an obligation to participate in the world we live in to the degree where we are able to make a difference. Votes make a difference! If you are lucky enough to be a citizen of a country that lets people vote, then you must do so. It is often the case that our political choices are not the best, but that doesn't excuse you from making a choice. Pick the best of what is available.

Love Joe Biden, he calls it just as he sees it. No holds barred! As small business owners it tee's me off that he doesn't pay taxes and brags about it. Taxes kill us and because we don't sell a product, we sell a brand (IT/Networking) we don't have a lot of wiggle room for tax breaks. I'm sure Joe is probably ready to retire from Politics and has nothing to lose at this point by being blatantly honest. Geez, he just lost his son Beau to cancer less than 2 years ago, and a wife along with another child to a car accident years ago. Some people don't care for Biden because he's outspoken, I adore him because I believe he's extremely sincere and isn't afraid to speak the TRUTH. Thanks for posting this @Dean Owen

Sir, with me, you're preaching to the choir. Given the fact that the American public is (by & large) brainwashed, how does one get anyone to take a second look at anything?
Even my best friend calls me a "conspiracy theorist". However, the woman I've lived with for 12 years now does not...she's seen too many of my "predictions" come true. I have no military background , except for the fact that I was raised around so many military personnel that I thought it was a given that everyone served for a period of time.
However, I was taught analytical reasoning as a pre-college course when I was 11, so I do have that advantage..
Again I ask: How does one go about waking up America?

#257 @Phil Friedman, as usual, I concur with your astute assessment. I simply meant to point out one of many factors contributing to the all the disengagement in the "Lumpy Kingdom" (thank you @Jim Murray). But I've noticed, for instance, image on LI depicting Hillary in prison with the term "Lock her up." This is just one draconian example. My point is that a social platform that calls itself the world's largest professional business network does not benefit from such unprofessional postings. I completely understand that many, many people have very strong opinions on the candidates. However, frankly, I think people are sick and tired of being inundated with this outrageous political material, which is perhaps better suited for Facebook or a political-oriented social platform. It's also my understanding that political posts are not viewed favorably here on beBee, but I could be wrong. @Javier beBee @Teresa Gezze @John White, MBA: what say you about this topic of egregious political postings here on beBee?
    Phil Friedman
    09/08/2016 #257 Phil Friedman
@ @David B. Grinberg - with all due respect, I do not believe it is the "harsh political comment" that is dragging LinkedIn down, but the mindless devotion to algorithmic control that doesn't even begin to do a proper job. If you take even a short break from being highly active on LI, you are punished by the algorithm deciding you get even less and less of the traffic from your connections and those whom you follow. (The algorithm determines that they are not "strong" connections.) And the obverse, as well, namely the distribution of your activity dwindles almost immediately to nothing. Perhaps, this is part of a longer term plan for monetization of distribution, but it is choking the life out of LI, and represents a significant opportunity for beBee to fill the breach. But only if beBee avoids going the way of linkedIn and Facebook, both of which are over-run with Insipidipity, and flawed by a lack of substantive content. Social media platforms might benefit from monetizing their use as vehicles for mindless content marketing, but they do not thrive when they follow the path themselves. Substantive content will always be king, and hopefully beBee will understand and act on that. Certainly, LinkedIn never did, in spite of the high potential initially shown by its long-post publishing platform. Moreover, per one of your prior comments when I interviewed you, the "Facebookification" of LinkedIn has increased exponentially I've noticed -- especially with a growing number of harsh political posts about the USA presidential campaign.
