Abbott in Ireland


In Ireland, Abbott employs almost 3,000 people across 10 sites. Abbott has six manufacturing facilities located in Clonmel, Cootehill, Donegal, Longford and Sligo and a third-party manufacturing management operation in Sligo. It has commercial, support operations and shared services in Dublin. Abbott serves the Irish market with a diverse range of health care products including diagnostics, medical devices, nutritionals and branded generic pharmaceuticals. Abbott has been operating in Ireland since 1946.

Finance Shared Services Centre (FSSC)

Abbott Ireland support a number of Abbott’s European businesses and are in the process of setting up a Finance SSC in Ireland to maximize the scope of services. We are looking for aSenior Accountant to join our team in Finance Shared Services Centre on a 12 month Fixed Term basis.


The Senior Accountant will work within the finance RTR team. The successful candidate will join its growing team and will be based in the finance hub Cherrywood Business Park


Responsibilities


•Responsibility for the monthly general ledger close activities for both US GAAP & Local Statutory purposes
•Review of monthly reconciliations & journals to ensure high quality compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP standards
•Maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders
•Ensure timely completion of audits and audit reports
•Proactively maintain quality and manage errors of accounts
•Perform analytics to ensure accuracy of financial information

•Identify opportunities for improvement of processes to reduce costs

•Provide input on an ad hoc basis for key stakeholders


Minimum Experience


- 3+ years of Post Qualified Accounting experience
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Work
- Experience in working in inter company in multinational environment
- Strong Accounting, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills


Preferred Experience


- Able to work effectively in a team environment
- SAP experience in a Multinational
- Excellent analytical skills, disciplined initiative & follow-up approach
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Highly organized
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent customer service skills
