Creates bottomsup elements of chip design including but not limited to FET, cell, and blocklevel custom layouts, FUBlevel floor plans, abstract view generation, RC extraction and schematictolayout verification and debug using phases of physical design development including parasitic extraction, static timing, wire load models, clock generation, customer polygon editing, autoplace and route algorithms, floor planning, fullchip assembly, packaging, and verification. Troubleshoots a wide variety up to and including difficult design issues and applied proactive intervention. Schedules, staffs, executes and verifies complex chips development and execution of project methodologies and/or flow developments. Requires expansive knowledge and practical application of methodologies and physical design.
BE/BTech or ME/Mtech with 6-8 years or 8 to 10 years of experience respectively in Analog Layout design, Custom Digital layout design, Standard Cell or Memory Cell layout design. Must have worked on designing layouts for IPs or sub-blocks such as high-speed IO's, LDO, PLL etc., Experience in layout optimization, improvements, characterization of layout is highly desirable. The ideal candidate should have creativity to make incremental improvements to existing designs and have ability to come-up with innovative floor plan to accommodate parent level requirements. Should have basic understanding of design characterization and timing concepts. Experience Layout Verification, IP integration requirements, RC extraction, Circuit simulation and EM/IR , ESD protection concepts is an added advantage. Experience in project planning , resource allocation and tracking along with co-ordination with Circuit design team is an essential skillset.
