About the role
 
You will perform a range of activities leveraging your expertise in analytics that will ultimately contribute to the success of the operations team. You will help the operations team with putting in place appropriate measures and ensure the health of these metrics, set up dashboard / analytics solutions to help manage operations at scale, surface trends and drive deep dives, perform analysis and make business recommendations to optimise operations, and collaborate with Engineering and Product counterparts to influence their roadmap of metrics enablement deliverables. This role is based in Hyderabad.
 
About the team
 
The mission of the team is to design, incubate and deploy solutions that use ground truth & human judgement to scale Uber's best ideas globally. In India, the team is spread out over Hyderabad and Bangalore and supports over 10 different workflows spread across the 3 verticals of Map Editing, Labelling & Classification, and Data validation & curation. We drive end to end operations strategy and manage large scale ops programs for various teams within the Tech organization.
 
What You’ll Do
Develop and establish desired metrics and KPIs for processes. Re-baseline periodically and advise targets
Develop playbooks and best practices for a multi-vendor, multi-vertical, multi-site operations
Apply expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and data visualization to see beyond the numbers and pull insights to help identify trends & opportunities to drive efficiency and scale of our operations
Develop compelling analyses to execute data-informed initiatives with development teams on feature and function improvements.
Design experiments and interpret the results to draw detailed and actionable conclusions
Present findings to senior management to guide business decisions
Engage with operations managers to identify various metrics and analytics needs and create RFC documents to flesh out the desired functionality
Be a thought leader for data-informed initiatives and guide the team’s direction overall
What you'll need
At least 5 years of experience in a quantitative analysis role
4 Minimum Years of Experience with Advanced SQL, Tableau, statistical analysis
BA/BS/MS in Physics, Economics, Applied Math, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other quantitative field (advanced degrees are a plus)
Proficient in writing and understanding complex SQL; experience working with large data sets
Proficient in data visualization tools like Tableau
Experience with statistical analysis, and a statistical package such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, or Stata
Advanced knowledge of experimentation and statistical methods
Ability to deliver on tight timelines and move quickly while maintaining attention to detail
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to execute on decisions
Self-driven and proactive with the ability to work in a self-guided manner
Excellent communication and organization skills
Bonus points if you have:
 
Worked at a high paced, fast growing, scrappy tech startup
Comfortable writing code and contributing to a code base in Python
Have led or been part of scaled operations teams and worked with vendors
