Commodity Managers, Commercial, Reference Library, Operations, Platform, Projects.
External Interfaces:
Performance Measurement
- Animate to reach set project Savings target
- Product Spec optimization, Alternate Architectures and procurement Strategy to meet projects/product target cost
Animate Design to Cost actions within projects:
Animate design-to-cost activities to reach set savings target for Project
Sets up cost targets for project team
Lead value engineering ideas working with Engineering, sourcing, Industrial & Supply Chain teams
Challenges contributors to improve the cost of reference solutions (design
simplifications, industrial schemes improvement, make or buy, LLCC)
Review Project target costs to validate with Production cost Lib/Should costing
Reporting of cost progress with all Stakeholders
Builds Product cost commitment
Builds quick costing of components for the project based on proven costing methodologies
Validate cost inputs for technical, sourcing, industrial & Supply Chain
Create cost and finance simulations to support business case decisions
Collate Risk register
Builds with Design to cost Metier manager the Product Reference library cost base

Job Specifications
Knowledge & Experience:
Candidates must have at least 10+ years of extensive experience in Value Engineering/ Product costing
Recommended skills:
- Highly Technical to challenge product requirements, architectures & Industrial Schemes
- Demonstrated proficiency in value engineering principles as applied to products
- Ability to estimate NRC/tooling/Jig fixture costs
- Commercial acumen to challenge suppliers & internal teams
- Proficient with office IT
- Highly numerate, literate and articulate
- Experience with product costing for projects
- Ability to motivate and challenge cross functional team to meet product target cost
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Focused on delivery of activities within tight deadlines
