Job Summary
Location: Bangladesh
Role: Under this role Finance Head manages all strategic functions and supervises the day to day activities relating to the BET functions namely Finance & Accounts, Shipping & Commercial, Banking & Treasury, Visa & Immigration, Statutory compliance, Audit & Legal and other related areas.
Designation & Reporting: Finance Head – Dhaka, reports to Country Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities and Duties
FINANCE & ACCOUNTS- Maintenance of financial accounts for the operations as required under the local regulations and MIS asper the company policy.- Periodic reporting of financial statements under the local regulations and MIS as per Company policy.- Actively participate in the key finance & accounting processes – Annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting,balance sheet review business review, etc and timely submission of various financial reports. Monthly business MIS – preparation, discussion with CEO and take forward the actions tobe taken. Review periodically receivables, payables, advances etc and do a check of balance sheet toensure closure of all pending issues and accounting for costs / provisions there on. Manage the risk of receivable, advances, other similar financial risks, legal, Employee related andother related business risks as per company policy. Using the “Zero-Based” approach & provide necessary inputs to CEO for finalising the budgets,financial forecasts. Review of sales order status, margin analysis, costing and related issues.- To understand and familiarise with SAP system and implement SAP systems for maintenance offinancial and operational accounts.SHIPPING & COMMERCIAL- Set up all internal process for submission of relevant documents to the bank for all import and exporttransactions.- Arrange for negotiations and settlement of all import and export transactions.- Attend to various commercial and documentation issues with banks, customers, suppliers and C&F agentsto ensure timely delivery of shipments and settlement of transactions.- Coordinate with accounting/finance teams of customer and suppliers to resolve any commercial, bankingand shipment related issues.- Keep all internal & external stakeholders informed of any delays in shipments or release of goods(Business heads, sourcing teams and Buyers)- Set up and train teams to: o Coordinate with all shipping teams of sourcing countries and ensure timely receiving ofdocuments and giving feedback for any changes or updates as necessary by customers/bankso Attending requests related to LC Opening, Amendments, Transfers or cancellations, arrangingSWIFT messages from the opening banks as necessaryo Arranging local or International TT payments to Garments Vendors, Service providers,Accessories Suppliers or any other third partieso Negotiating Courier Service contracts and achieving competitive deals with International couriercompanieso Ensuring acceptance of Garments vendor export documents with necessary claim deductionswhere applicable according to claim recovery planningo Regular coordination with the sourcing Shipping teams to update on exception recoveries fromvarious Garments Vendors or any other third partieso Issuance of Bank Delivery Orders from LC Issuing banks for air shipments and sending to Buyer'srepresentative and Sourcing shipping teamsBANKING & TREASURY- Develop Trade finance limits locally, Maintain cordial and regular working relationship with banks andfinancial institutions.- Participate actively in negotiating finance costs- interest, bank charges, penalties etc and ensure thecosts are kept to the minimum.- Review and ensure timely execution of all agreements relating to term loan and working capitalfacilities.- Update management on all developments relating to banking, regulations and their impact to business, forthcoming changes on interest and banking costs
- As required by the group policy to facilitate in taking forward contracts to hedge the currencyfluctuations.- Timely resolutions of any issues with banks- documentation, security, queries, non-compliance etcAUDIT- Coordinate the statutory auditors to complete quarterly and annual audits as required under the grouppolicy and local regulatory requirements.- Coordinate (internally & externally) in negotiating and finalising the audit fees and costs.- Coordinate with the internal auditors to conduct internal audits as per the group SOP’s and policies.- Attend to all audit observations and timely implementations of Audit recommendationsLEGAL & STATUTORY COMPLIANCE- Have a checklist of all the required periodical statutory compliances and ensure timely submission of documents and records as required.- Ensure timely submission and filing of tax returns- corporate tax, employee tax, GST/VAT, customs and other local requirements.- Work along with Group Legal team and local lawyers, if any, on various legal matters such as –execution of agreements or contracts, legal notices, litigation etc- Timely issuance of legal and commercial contracts to various suppliers and service providersGENERAL- Understand the business and operational requirements to implement appropriate internal controls toavoid any fraud, mis appropriation and smooth flow of operations. - Understand the business risks and along with Group CFO & Risk manager provide necessaryinformation to mitigate the risks-inventory, credit, forex, financial & operational risks.  Co-ordinate on various matters relating to insurance, currency hedges etc. - Manage other functions such as HR (Employment contract, payroll processing, annual appraisal, training& development etc), IT (SAP & Digitisation) & Compliance (customer compliance requirements) inaccordance with the group policy. - Manage the visa application / approval / security clearance and all other related services for all the expatemployees in Bangladesh.
Qualifications and Skills
Chartered Accountant / Cost Accountant with 7-8 years of experience in apparel sourcing or manufacturing or retail industry in managerial roles in Accounting, Finance and commercial role. - Good working knowledge of Trade finance documents flow/ LC and related matters (from L/C opening tillfinally get paid) and all other banking related operations is must.- Results Oriented – Meet deadlines on assignments, juggle multiple demands and to work with variousfunctional teams and the CEO of the business. Hands on experience in maintaining accounts on SAP & other integrated ERP systems. - Good working knowledge in MS office – excel, word, power point etc. - Very good written and oral communication skills - Strong analytical, problem solving and co-ordination skills to evaluate alternatives and providerecommendations on business issues - Excellent team playerBangla speaking will be an added advantage

Salary: ₹4,500,000.00 to ₹5,000,000.00 /year
