What you will do:
As an IT Release Engineer, you will work closely with IT Development teams, IT Operations, and IT Program/Project Managers to deliver high quality IT Application Releases.
As a member of the Enterprise Release Management Organization (ERMO), you will help effectively introduce IT releases into business environments, using the Operating Model framework. This includes running issues resolving readiness of each release based on
Various criteria; quality of release, production environment readiness, training and support plans, rollout and back-out plans, and risk management plans. Releases include cloud native releases, application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, as well as projects and programs across both Waterfall and Agile project life-cycles.
Lead releases/projects for Application & Infrastructure implementations across CI/CD pipelines
Promoting standard methodologies for development and deployment in a Cloud Native and Legacy environment
Provide regular and timely updates on release progress about issues and
Deployment readiness, to assess Release Readiness and Breakthrough achievements
Continually work towards making improvements in the release process through Program Increment Planning and Sprints
Lead and oversee Go-Live activities including preparation of support, execution of the deployment plans and triaging of issues during deployment
Participate in meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks
Conduct periodic service reviews to ensure 2-way feedback and incorporate any insights from that feedback
Who you are:
Bachelor's Degree with coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems and Business Management, or equivalent work experience
5+ years Release Engineering / Configuration Management or Change Control Experience (Cloud Releases a huge plus) preferably in an enterprise IT application environment with technical expertise in software development, firmware or hardware engineering
Deep understanding of Agile (SAFe), Waterfall Project Life Cycle Methodologies
Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, Spinnaker, Kubernetes and/or Artifactory a huge plus
Defining and executing the Release strategy for transforming existing applications to cloud native oriented applications
Positive and solution-oriented mindset
Excellent English written and verbal interpersonal skills
A strong inclination towards communication, collaboration and inclusion
Ability to thrive in an organization that follows the sunset model
Self-motivated and self-managing, with strong organizational skills
Familiar with agile and waterfall project life cycles, with training/certifications
Comfortable in leading multiple priorities and flexible to adapt to any given situation
Demonstrable record of successfully driving issues to closure and working well within a time driven environment
You are a self-starter with superb communication, leadership and organization skills and are able to partner and influence key Partners.
