Job Description of Junior Analyst:

Junior analysts must have curiosity and reasoning skills including being interested in social systems, interpersonal dynamics, social groups, human decision making, communities, crime, law, and preferences.

Junior analysts must be able to use common sense, logic, reasoning, past data, and prediction when entering and collating data so they can identify insights. They must be passionate about handling and understanding field research. They must have a passion for being thorough, organizing work, tying threads together, working with a team, having discussions, and identifying insights.

Junior Analyst work closely with field researchers. They translate and document their data, transcribe it, and put it into databases on an everyday basis without failing. They also encode different types of data into a system after assessing it. They are expected to do all needful data entry and data cleaning. Work closely with Senior Analysts and provide necessary information, inputs, and insights from data collated. Help and assist Senior Analysts in data analysis.

Mandatory skills

- Knowledge in Qualitative Data Analysis- Manual and preferably be acquainted with NVIVO or Atlas.ti
- Quantitative data analysis, must be acquainted in Excel and comfortable working with Excel
- Data cleaning of coded data as well as quantitative data
- Strong documentation skills
- Proficient in secondary data mining and data banking
- Must be good in spoken and written English
- Must be good in spoken and written Marathi
Preferred Skills

- Field work experience in development sector either rural or urban or both
Years of Experience - - 2+ years of research experience in social/development sector or some equivalent research experience on societal systems or people centric systems
- 2+ years experience in handling legal data works as well
- 2+ years experience handling data
Education Background - - Preferably social science background- Anthropology, Sociology, Political Science, Economics, Criminology, Rural Development, Developmental Studies
- Preferably has done Social Network Analysis as part of their research
- Legal background also works very well including as a paralegal, junior lawyer, or legal researcher
Other soft skills - Self-motivated

Eye for detail

Ability to drive action within ambiguity

Interested in understanding systems

Should be good at working on pressing and sudden deadlines

Analytical and curious mind
