Ops Risk RTB L2 Analyst
The Operational Risk RTB L2 Support Analyst role is responsible for providing the end-to-end Production and Non-production technical support for all Operational Risk Technology owned applications (ORAC, MI BO reporting solution, RSAM and OCTON) and environments.
The candidate will be responsible for the stability, continuity and availability of the applications, managing the Production and non-Production environments, and co-ordinating the deployment of Change Releases and Production fixes through each stage of the development.
The candidate will be hands-on, be able to work independently and assist other members of the team where required. They will have strong analytical skills, be proactive, respond to incidents, user queries (originating from the RTB L1 team) and problems in a timely manner, owning them until closure, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and status.
The RTB L2 team member needs to work closely with Operational Risk RTB Level 1 team (they handle all incoming user requests and pass on issues relating to the ORAC production system), the Operational Risk Technology Development, the Operational Risk Business Service Support and Change teams, as well as the Vendor and Infrastructure Services teams.
The candidate will be working in shifts. This role also requires the candidate to provide RTB weekend support and services to enable deployment of monthly and quarterly releases, ad hoc maintenance and production fixes services (deployment of code, data fixes, etc,)
The candidate is also expected to work longer than the agreed upon shift times if the business has raised a Severity 1 or Severity 2 production incident ticket.
Co-ordinate the deployment of software releases and fixes through all stages of the development lifecycle up to and including production software and post release operational readiness checks for production and non-production environments.
o Absorb and assimilate information and education relating to new and enhanced system technology and functionality to support the transition to business-as-usual operation
o Co-ordinate the deployment of regular Linux, Windows, Java, Oracle and JBOSS patches, configuration changes and scheduled housekeeping activities
o Perform daily health checks, monitor performance and proactively raise and address issues
o Monitor, analyse and resolve incidents, service requests, user queries and problems, working closely with the Vendor, RTB L1 team, development and infrastructure teams
o Participate in Major Incident Management calls across various component teams to help identify the root cause of the incidents and resolve the incident thereafter
o Demonstrate the ability to analyse, research and resolve problems, escalate issues, clearly communicate with the users and other teams, and effectively manage priorities and expectations
o Delivery of documentation to agreed standards, on time and error free
o Participate in service recovery tests and business continuity tests
o Perform the quarterly Joiner/ Leaver/ Mover process
o Analysis and trending of incidents, root cause and other MI to provide innovative solutions to existing problems and to identify and implement agreed improvement initiatives
o Develop and utilise core support tools, eg, automation, and processes to perform work while improving day-to-day practices for support team members with the goal of delivering service improvements to the business
o Provide effective production Level 2 support coverage, particularly in the areas of SQL, Oracle, Java and JBOSS application server, with ability to undertake performance analysis and tuning, understand and interpret execution plans, AWR, ADDR, CPU/Memory utilisation
o Work under minimum supervision
o Understand customer needs and priorities and the wider picture to provide quality solutions
· Strong technical knowledge of Oracle 11g (current) and Oracle 12c (current and planned)
· Technical knowledge of NAS/Unix/Linux/Windows/Java, JBOSS application server
· Knowledge and preferably experience of using Business Objects,
