Cisco is seeking experienced, talented and creative Java/Front End Developer to join our growing team in developing innovative, leading edge Internet cloud based services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work in all phases of application lifecycle: prototyping, design, coding, unit testing, and maintenance Write high quality, well documented code, following industry and company standards
Design, implement, and maintain multi-tier server-side web applications, web services, and programmatic interfaces for systems integration, with necessary levels of security and performance
Create user-friendly applications, with emphasis on simplicity, usability, reliability, and scalability
Produce and maintain project artifacts (such as UI prototypes, design specs, unit test code, build and deployment scripts, etc.) based on specific project assignments, using industry and company standard tools and methodologies
Provide occasional after-hours support for production upgrades and troubleshooting support for escalated incidents related to assigned projects
Update project management tools, present written and verbal progress reports, and complete required deliverables by agreed upon deadlines
Be an active team member in an Agile development environment
Perform additional duties as assigned by team leader and management
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:
Master’s or Bachelor's degree with major in Computer Science, Engineering, or related area
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES:
2 to 4 years of Java programming / J2EE experience, and/or Object Oriented languages (C++, C#, Objective-C)
Experience with RESTful Web Services
Experience using development tools:
Java IDEs (Eclipse, NetBeans, etc.)
Code repository (SVN, Git)
Continuous build tools (Jenkins, Hudson)
Programming Basic understanding of web markup including HTML5 and CSS3.
Must have very strong database and SQL skills, preferably with PostgreSQL and MySQL
Effective verbal and written technical communication
Ability to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including troubleshooting and fault isolation
