Position Summary

The System Administrator II is responsible for the uptime and availability of applications, servers, and related peripherals. Provides tier II and higher support for the systems; providing quick and thorough response to issues in the production and corporate networks. Participates in the implementation, maintenance, ongoing support, and evolutionary improvement of the F5 system architecture and design; incorporating full-life cycle considerations into the resulting established environment, as well as operational support processes for computing security and access management, change management, configuration management, and problem management. Participates in the automation of manual touch-points and interfaces as feasible to streamline functioning and support efficiency.

This position provides production support for Global Services Applications. In this position, you will work with cross functional IT and business teams to troubleshoot problems, propose solutions, and apply fixes to quickly resolve issues or restore service. Additionally, this role will look for opportunities to improve operational efficiency, or improve customer experience.

Primary Responsibilities

·        Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.

·        Enterprise Systems: Provide comprehensive administration of assigned systems, including product evaluation, selection, installation, integration, user support, problem resolution, and ongoing maintenance of hardware, operating systems, networking, and application software.

·        Provide support to large/complex systems and infrastructure projects. Participate on project teams to help develop, document, and analyze business and technical requirements

·        Operations: Help define, deploy, practice, and maintain standards, procedures, and tools to provide highly reliable systems operations. Ensure problems and potential error conditions are promptly and appropriately addressed. Enforce IT policy and procedure within the team. Support efforts to determine, recommend, develop, and implement forward-looking strategies for satisfying worldwide business needs and maintaining technical currency with assigned systems.

·        Documentation: Establish and maintain up-to-date configuration and recovery documentation for assigned systems. Ensure ongoing communications regarding system issues/activities with all stakeholders: managers, end users, IT staff, vendors, customers, etc.

·        The position is trusted with access to critical company data and services in order to support that data/service and its delivery via technology. This trust should not be broken or abused, and includes having the ability to pushback where appropriate to ensure that the security and reliability of the IT environment is maintained.

·        Perform other related duties as assigned.

·        BS/BA or equivalent work experiences

·        3-5 years experience administering large enterprise applications (Salesforce and/or Siebel platform experience preferred)

Physical Demands and Work Environment

·        Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. 

·        Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.

·        Duties may require being on call periodically or working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).  Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane, approximately 5% of the time spent traveling.

·        Job may be performed on-site at a customer facility or data center, or in an office environment sitting at a desk or computer table.
