Position Summary:
Tech Ops Engineer will perform operational support for production applications. Day to day work will include troubleshooting and fixing issues, documentation, and consultation to other teams within their portfolio. He/she demonstrates good knowledge of key technologies, products and services, within agreed areas of expertise
Responsible to support monitoring Azure PaaS applications for exceptions, monitoring for performance, managing the demand planning and capacity utilization of our application infrastructure
Responsible to support all of the operations needed to run the application on Microsoft Azure and break glass for Red Box countries
Troubleshooting and fixing issues, documentation, and consultation to other teams within their portfolio
Support changes/releases/upgrades to the application environments
Focus on stability and application uptime 24/7 with an emphasis on quick incident resolution and automated solutions that prevent future outages
Work with dynamic scrum teams’ of professionals to build monitoring and automation tools to support applications
Application monitoring, technical operations processes, and coordinate changes to infrastructure and application updates
Support all application infrastructure: PaaS, SaaS, storage, cache, and configuration
Excellent customer service, interpersonal awareness, and communication skills will be pivotal in bringing Tech Ops efficiency
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Good knowledge of C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET programming
Good knowledge of Azure (Paas and Iaas)
Web Development- HTML, AJAX, Javascript, XML and Web Services
Good knowledge of SQL Server 2005/08/12
Microsoft Visual Studio 2005/2008 /2010/2012
IIS Web Application Hosting, SSL
General understanding of networking/LAN/WAN/DMZ concepts
Ability to read and understand code (Code-competency) for diagnosis, escalation to tier 4 teams
Knowledge of troubleshooting tools and techniques for eg : fiiddler, wireshark
Knowledge of Stored Procedures, SQL Query, Query Optimization etc
Understanding of n-Tier application architecture concepts
General knowledge of Oracle and tools SQL Plus or TODD
General knowledge of SQL2000 and In-depth knowledge of SQL2005/2008/2012
Creation of simple queries, running pre-defined scripts, configuration, security, and interpreting logs and traces.
Demonstrable knowledge and familiarity with T-SQL or PL/SQL
General understanding of various IT security concepts as they relate to production environments
A degree in Computer Science / Engineering and/or a business related degree
Over 1 to 6 years of IT experience
Certification Requirements:
ITIL Foundation is desirable
