Job Description: Designs and analyzes thermal design of electronic systems. Conducts feasibility studies, simulations and testing on new and modified designs.
To be successful, you should be passionate in developing new technologies and systems that deliver end consumer value. The job involves working with highly talented team to innovate and execute in the thermal/mechanical space by working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, display, power/performance etc. You are expected to leverage external partners to develop new materials/technologies that can support HVM. Developing IP (Intellectual property) is one of the team goals. Part of the job includes supporting other teams in executing projects on aggressive timelines. You are expected to facilitate technical reviews of ideas/work and ultimately own timely delivery of high quality results.
Ability to perform high quality system-level analysis (transient and steady state) preferably with icepack or flowTHERM.
Innovative thinker who can identify gaps and propose potential solutions
Understands trends in thermal or mechanical innovations and pays attention to advancements in technologies
Broad knowledge of thermal or mechanical technologies applicable to the PC industry
M.S. in Mechanical/Thermal Engineering or equivalent. 5 - 15 years of experience in high tech industry with min 5 years of experience in product (system) development. Strong fundaments in Thermal and Mechanical design. A background in electronics cooling and knowledge of thermal simulation tools and experimental methodologies is preferred. Experience working with cross cultural teams is a must. Should have experience in product development, working with vendors and suppliers in the Mechanical & Thermal Design space. Strong technology background with passion for Developing IP and game changing technology.
