The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Senior User Interface (UI) Engineer to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will join a team designing and building the UI technology for the Red Hat OpenShift offering. You will be a key member of our Red Hat OpenShift team, focusing on building world-class technologies demonstrating Red Hat’s thought and market leadership in customer experience, system engineering, and Kubernetes management. As a Senior UI Engineer, you'll need to be able to work in a fast-paced and sometimes chaotic environment, with the goal of making our end users and customers more successful with every release.
Primary job responsibilities
Work closely with engineers and as a self-sufficient contributor to design and develop features on the Red Hat OpenShift web console and in related upstream and downstream repositories
Work with team members, leads, and external teams to determine feasibility of new features as requested by stakeholders
Communicate with end users through IRC, forums, email, and community tools like GitHub
Provide technical leadership within the team, Red Hat, and the community
Mentor junior team members
5+ years of experience focused on the development of front-end, web-based applications
Solid communication skills
Experience in HTML5 and CSS3
AngularJS, React.js, and Node.js
Solid understanding of coding for browser compatibility, UI best practices, and existing web standards
Ability to design effective UIs to account for user input, accessibility, and simplicity
Ability to work on your own as a senior level individual contributor as well as lead others successfully through the software development life cycle (SDLC)
Experience mentoring junior team members
