Job summary

The Red Hat Global Finance team is looking for a bright and energetic Financial Analyst to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will perform sales and operations planning analysis with the opportunity and expectation to serve as a global finance leader. Your primary focus will be to facilitate and guide field sales long-range and fiscal year planning. You’ll interact frequently with key leadership groups in the operations, sales, marketing, finance, product, and IT teams from across the globe. This will provide you with the opportunity to sharpen your quantitative analysis skills and to develop a well-rounded business savvy through working with experienced senior leadership on impactful and far-reaching projects. Your success will depend on your ability to collaborate with and persuade your stakeholders to take action on intelligence and recommendations that you provide in this role.
Primary job responsibilities

Take ownership of global leadership to guide and facilitate field sales planning, setting the top-line direction of the company
Collaborate with cross-functional planning groups, including regional operations and key global stakeholders like strategy, finance, marketing, product, and IT teams
Create and guide investment and business plans in support of global sales initiatives
Provide planning analytical support and consultation for key sales leadership teams, including senior vice president or general manager-level executives, to support their decision making
Work closely with the offshore shared services team in India to guide planning data and tools infrastructure and facilitate the development of reporting and insights
Engage in data transformation activities to ensure data quality for management reporting; create transition plan for these responsibilities to shared services data teams
Innovate process improvements
Identify and articulate planning requirements to worldwide planning stakeholders
Take ownership for the design and maintenance of global planning models and templates
Consolidate a global sales plan from regional sales finance teams; provide analytical insights on the resulting global views
Lead planning tool implementation projects to build a next-generation planning process
Required skills

Graduate degree in business administration or a related field; MBA is a big plus
Solid relationship management skills
5-7 years of related professional experience
Extensive experience delivering presentations to senior management with a good focus on detail and design
Expert spreadsheet modeler (i.e., sensitivity analysis, forecasting, time series models, etc.)
Advanced analytical skills; ability to learn advanced analytical techniques using Python or R
Motivated with the ability to conquer ambiguity and develop networks
Demonstrated record of solid customer service and interpersonal and time management skills in a dynamic environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Willingness to travel internationally
 
The following are considered a plus:
 
Consulting background
Strategic and financial planning background
Experience with Google Sheets and Slides
Basic understanding of Salesforce.com (SFDC) and of reporting in it
Previous experience with planning tools, i.e., Anaplan, Hyperion Planning, etc.
Experience with relational database and data warehousing systems like SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Amazon Redshift, Oracle, MySQL, etc.
