The Red Hat People (HR) team is looking for an HR Compliance Specialist to join us in our global headquarters in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will consult with HR partners and business associates on HR-related compliance programs, working on the implementation and management of global HR programs, policies, and procedures. As an HR Compliance Specialist, you will partner with international project teams to create and deliver solutions that support the growth of our company.
Primary job responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with program managers and compliance partners to consult on HR-related compliance activities
Conduct research and partner with global team associates to prioritize and understand HR compliance requirements worldwide and the effect that they have on our business
Interpret employment law and translate it to a Red Hat implementation, offering recommendations on the approach
Retain current knowledge of global compliance requirements and help assess the implications of these requirements on Red Hat
Partner with global team members to create and implement solutions that are compliant, scalable, and in alignment with Red Hat’s business practices and culture
Draft HR policies, procedures, and process documents to be reviewed by team members in the spirit of our collaborative culture
Work on complex, sensitive matters to assess risk and recommend the right course of action
Contribute to the building of internal compliance capabilities of the HR team
Bachelor’s degree in employment law, HR, business administration, or a related field; master’s degree or Juris Doctor (JD) degree is a plus
6+ years of relevant experience in employment-related legal, regulatory, and compliance programs or risk and controls, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Working knowledge of applicable HR statutes and compliance programs
Familiarity with the development and implementation of HR global programs in order to best partner with program owners
Detail-oriented with solid research and analytical skills
Solid collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to comply with confidentiality obligations with team members and across the organization
Ability to operate within a matrixed organization
The following are considered a plus:
Significant research and writing experience
Ability to persuade and work collaboratively with global team members across multiple functions
Ability to manage multiple priorities and prioritize shifting demands
Understanding of the corporate environment and an interest in global employment law and compliance requirements for a fast-paced, rapidly growing, global technology company
Interested in data analysis and requirements gathering for the purpose of developing recommended plans of action
Interested in handling sensitive matters through fact-finding or other research methods
