Job summary

The Red Hat Information Technology (IT) team is looking for a Data Architect to join us in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will work with your scrum team, with other teams, and across departments to build, test, deploy, and maintain scalable technology solutions. These solutions must be developed for high availability and to deliver accurate data for marketing campaign planning and execution, lead generation, and segmentation. You’ll be expected to stay familiar with industry and technology trends, write detailed technical documentation for the team, write business solution guides, participate in scrum ceremonies, troubleshoot issues, and continuously enhance our marketing infrastructure. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects that involve stakeholders across a global company. Ideally, you should have the ability to employ critical thinking skills to design software and database solutions that allow for flexibility in business processes, and rapidly or iteratively develop solutions to real world problems.

Primary job responsibilities

- Be an expert in people processes, technology, and data that comprise Red Hat's marketing infrastructure
- Develop a roadmap and a prioritized backlog of work
- Lead teams and prioritize enhancement projects according to resource availability and timelines
- Foster collaborative decision making that includes significant input from global and regional
- counterparts within marketing and other departments
- Manage workflow, use of resources, budget, and contractual aspects of key marketing vendor relationships
- Develop data quality standards and help implement monitoring for data quality, troubleshoot
- data anomalies, and escalate data issues to be resolved
- Identify and adopt best practices, including data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, coding, and documentation
- Develop Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift-based microservices and batch processes
- Create extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes that generate business value for marketing and sales teams
- Use vendor APIs, including Oracle Eloqua, (SFDC), and Adobe Analytics
- Provide Tier 2 investigations by working with data anomaly team and using critical thinking to
- analyze and provide answers to platform questions
- Write documentation including playbooks, solution guides, and blog posts
- Develop automated unit tests, end-to-end tests, and integration tests to assist in quality assurance (QA) procedures
- Implement system health monitoring, reporting, and meaningful and actionable alerts
- Write and validate complex SQL queries to create views for segmentation

Required skills

- Subject matter expertise in systems scalability
- Experience with back-end scripting languages like Python
- Experience writing ETL pipelines as code
- Experience writing complex SQL queries like MariaDB, Postgres, or Redshift
- Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, or Redis
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field or a bachelor's degree with demonstrable coding experience
- 10+ years of relevant work experience with software development or data analysis
- 1+ years of Python programming experience
- 2+ years of experience using SQL and RDBMS systems like Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL
- Knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts
- Record of using agile development processes like scrum and kanban to develop software
- Great problem solver, ability to learn on your own and be comfortable working with ambiguous or disparate pieces of information
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced team environment, across time zones, and with different cultures, while maintaining the ability to work as part of a team
- Desire to collaborate with others and ability to step outside of your comfort zone
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction, extreme pressure, and strict deadlines
- Solid critical thinking and troubleshooting skills; ability to perform root cause analysis

The following are considered a plus:

- Experience with version control tools like Git
- Experience building and debugging containers like Docker 
- Experience deploying containers in a Platform-as-a-Service offerings like Red Hat OpenShift or KubeNow 
- Experience with Java
- Experience with SOA or Microservices architecture
