Description

Objective of job
To make conceptual improvements to services and benefits relating to global assignments. To ensure these are understood and applied consistently worldwide by means of user training, information distribution, production of manuals, work instructions, processes, etc. and are documented in a knowledge management database. To advise Operations and HR BP on individual cases.

Tasks
Concept development & implementation:
Developing a competitive and comprehensive service package by managing own responsibilities and/or projects relating to services and benefits packages (e.g. Relocation, Visa & Immigration, Move & Travel), while involving all relevant stakeholders worldwide (impatriates, expatriates, third country nationals and their partners and children); firmly rooting the benefits package in other Global Assignment Management (GAM) processes and coordinating with other GAM process owners
Developing standards for working with partners (e.g. relocation departments, language training, intercultural training, destination services,…): developing processes, guidelines, principles for partnerships, and concepts to improve the support for local HR BP/ entities at the destination
Producing and updating manuals and working documents, and updating departmental knowledge databases; ensuring an internationally consistent interpretation and application of the Global Mobility Policy and answering related questions from users around the world (HRD/G inhouse and HRD/G external); ensuring that global communication relating to the GAM services for assignees and HR BP and/or business divisions is standardized
Enlisting a wide range of inhouse and external process participants (HRD/G, HR BP, local entities, company medical services, corporate security, Daimler Insurance Services, …) with the objective of making stakeholders aware of the key to a successful assignment; implementing the measures and tools identified through this with involvement from the stakeholders
Developing and implementing a process for identifying important data and integrating it into the available GAM (IT) relocation processes, and using the process to monitor and plan measures
Advising and managing global HRD/G stakeholders in the planning and implementation of GAM processes
Devising training measures and running training courses to ensure HRD/G has the necessary knowledge
Managing service providers:
Managing the global providers (see above): assigning tasks and ensuring these are properly performed; monitoring the implementation of measures; monitoring assignee satisfaction levels; managing the administration; ensuring processes are continuously improved and simplified; ensuring invoices are controlled
Providing tailored advice:
Providing tailored advice on policy matters, supporting local entities/HR BP in addressing local assignment topics; demonstrating a range of possible solutions that factor in local considerations (e.g. local programs, location sizes, anticipated number of assignees); clarifying and coordinating with central divisions to guarantee corporate compliance; providing support / expert guidance on possible alternatives, in particular where no relevant guidelines exist
