Job purpose

As a Business Tax Advisory Senior manager, you will combine your strong tax technical skills with practical commercial, legislative and industry knowledge to provide tailored advice to clients and to build valued relationships with them and your internal peers. You will create, lead and motivate high-performing teams and help staff members build their skills. You will also be responsible for managing the economics of the engagement and ensure adherence to our Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM) guidelines.
Client Responsibilities

• Keep up to date with tax legislation, tax case law and any items published by the South African Revenue Services (Rulings, Interpretation Notes etc.)
• Understand our current tax service offerings and actively assist in developing new tax service offerings
• Regularly contribute towards tax technical opinions and publications
• Regularly participate in internal tax technical training sessions
• Build strong client relationships and networks
• Advise clients on complex tax technical matters
• Conduct tax technical research and draft technically correct opinions/ reports
• Regularly engage with clients and assist them with tax research and tax planning
• Build strong relationships within the firm and strengthen our global network
• Understand the firm's revenue and growth goals
• Contribute to the firm’s sales and market initiatives
• Ensure compliance with the firm’s Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM) procedures
People responsibilities
• Promote knowledge transfer to staff through ‘on the job’ training
• Actively delegate work to members of the tax team
• Manage staff performance and regularly conduct honest staff appraisals
• Ensure that the work environment contributes to improving staff morale and increasing staff productivity

• BComm Honours/ LLB qualification
• HDip/ MCom in Taxation
• Minimum 8 years of taxation experience
