Our communities of practice provide access to expertise and learning, where your skills and passion for innovation and excellence will thrive.

What’s the role?

The role of the Capability Center Manager ensures the Capability Centers and Centers of Excellence remain cost neutral and provide world class technology services to application development and enhancement projects for both applications and infrastructure services. They are involved in appropriate resource and portfolio planning for the suite of technical services provided and ensure that cost recovery mechanisms support cost neutrality and long-term sustainability.

You will bring your experience in resource management, such as identifying the required scale of the resources, securing them, prioritizing and allocating resources and monitoring the usage of those resources appropriately, ensuring our best resources work on our most challenging projects using your strategic analytical and project management skills. You will create the optimum mix of internal and external resources and the desired geographical balance between the IT Hubs and other business proximate locations.

We will call on your proven leadership skills and qualities as you manage the resource pool within the capability center, particularly focusing on talent development, capability building, mentoring and succession planning. You will also use your relationship management skills to partner with senior stakeholders both in the IT organisation and into the wider Shell businesses.

Ultimately, your talents will drive implementation efficiency and effectiveness as well as increase speed of implementation to maximize the value delivery to the business
