The Luxembourg CFO reports to the CFO Belux and the CEO Luxembourg.

He leads to the Finance & Pricing department in Luxembourg


Overall purpose of the role

As the CFO Express Luxembourg you will own all financial & pricing aspects in terms of planning, analysis and management of all financial matters, by partnering, advising and challenging the country senior management team and influencing the strategic direction whilst maintaining financial transparency and adherence to financial policies, supporting project work as well as the broader business development agenda. Support the development of the country Finance Team.

Accountabilities

FINANCE department management :

Accounting
Manage accounting activities together with shared service centre ensuring timely closure of financial and managerial ledgers
Ensure compliance with DPWN and DHL financial policies and procedures for the safeguarding of assets, property, accurate and timely submission of the country’s financial records
Financial & Business Controlling
Prepare consolidated analysis of country financial performance and cost control including recommendations where appropriate
Analyse and communicate management reporting results to the country Board and Belux Controlling
Ensure strong internal control environment (CRISP)
Perform full commercial controlling

Planning & Budgeting
Ensure that the management of the planning, budgeting and forecasting process complies with DHL financial policies and procedures so that strategic targets are met
Sets the yearly budget in conjunction with country Line Management
Assists Line Management in the preparation of operating budgets

Reporting
Provides accurate and timely management reports to the country Board and Belux controlling to ensure appropriate decision-making, business planning and analysis whilst ensuring effective control and forecasting
Provides variance analysis and narratives when necessary in order to alert financial issues, trends and opportunities
People Management
Leads & develops the finance & pricing department
Takes performance interviews and coaches, motivates and supports employees in their personal development.
Organizes and monitors structural work meeting.
Tax, Statutory, External Control
Manage fiscal and statutory reporting
Prepares necessary reports and liaises with audit and tax authorities as required
Ensure compliance with fiscal controls
Develop and maintain relationships with financial community (auditors, banks,…)
Represents company in dealing with financial institutions, major customers and others as required

Customer Accounting
Ensure proper billing and cash collection via SLA in order to maximise flow whilst maintaining positive customer relationships
Ensure compliance with DPWN and DHL’s accounting and controlling policies, procedures and standards
Ensure compliance with country legal, statutory and taxation requirements
Determine and implements new procedures and systems in controlling, accounting, tax and billing, recovery, legal and insurance in order to minimise risk and increase cost efficiency
Ensures that all financial activities and processes are supported by the appropriate Financial Information systems
Ensure that internal audits are conducted regularly and recommendations are
implemented across the business
Pricing

Manages day to day pricing activities

Manages pricing projects (SPA, GPI, Yield, etc…)

Profile

Knowledge
Master’s Degree (Economics/ Finance).
At least 8 years working experience in an analytical role (costing, finance, data analysis)

Specific skills and qualifications
Communication skills in English and French.(German + Dutch = advantage).
Very good analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills
Proactive and able to work under pressure
Knowledge of International Accounting Principles (IAS/IFRS)
Good understanding of costing, margin management and pricing issues
Optimal people management skills
Able to manage remotely
Project management skills
Rigorous, precise and accurate to produce reliable reports.
Software : SAP/Oracle, MS Office
