About the Role
We are currently seeking a Compliance Engineer to enable the hardware development of our next-generation of electric bike sharing products. IoT devices, electric drivetrains, batteries, and outdoor charging stations are a crucial piece of our product offering, and the regulatory environment around them is evolving quickly. We need to grow our team so that we can efficiently validate that our products are safe and certifiable - and in doing so, continue our leadership position in defining the standards of this new industry.

Review our product categories and operating markets, using this information to research necessary certifications and testing procedures for entering and operating in those markets.
Work with component vendors, test labs and government agencies as needed to move projects through initial, final, and recurring certification scopes.
Work with manufacturing partners to ensure that products are being developed to meet necessary certifications
Manage the controlled introduction of new products, establish testing plans, organize pilot production runs to ensure that large-volume production runs maintain certification criteria.
Perform documentation, monitoring and testing and maintain repository of test reports and necessary approvals.
Create and document test plans, oversee and monitor the execution of tests, and interpret the test results.
Prepare technical justification and technical documents to demonstrate compliance to applicable standards.
What You’ll Need
3-5 years working with certification agencies to bring products to market and/or deploy equipment installations.
Deep knowledge of industry standard bodies covering mechanical, electrical, wireless and environmental, such as CE, Machinery Directive, EN, RoHS
Fluent in English. Dutch is a plus.
Obsessive attention to detail and solutions oriented.
Demonstrated self-motivation and good judgement for moving forward projects to achieve compliance with complex or in-development standards.
Relentless instincts to follow-up with internal and external partners to keep projects on schedule.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to keep internal parties clearly informed while being concise. Experienced working with international companies.
High awareness of IP confidentiality and ability to implement safeguards.
A proactive and positive approach to problem solving that stimulates collaborative teamwork to move quickly while enduring frustrating or unclear circumstances.
Inspiring advocate for product certification, with the ability to bridge global teams in the areas of certification, testing, communication, and culture.
