cBanker is a critical Compliance application that supports the Compliance Control Room and Conflicts Management teams interact with both public and private side front office businesses, as well as other teams within Compliance and Function (e.g. Legal, Risk, etc). Ensuring appropriate management of material non-public information, Wall Crossing of individual from public to private side, creation and management of Banking deal teams and the review/publishing of Barclays Research. The team is currently in a very exciting period of re-inventing itself through automating operational processes and bringing in state of the art technology.
Your Role
You will work as a developer in an agile team delivering the cBanker system.
The successful candidates should have the soft skills to complement their technical knowledge; including analysis, strong communication and documentation skills. The candidate will be expected to proactive learner; always willing to expand their knowledge and skills as necessary.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Hands on development using Java/J2EE/Oracle PL-SQL technologies delivering the functionality to a high quality meeting the agreed specifications and standards.
Pro-active engagement in Agile ceremonies; e.g. daily stand ups, retrospectives and product demos
Troubleshooting QA, UAT, production and performance issues; identifying root cause and options for optimisation.
Ensuring project documentation is maintained as per project/firm standards.
Essential Skills
Experience with Java / J2EE technologies including Java frameworks such as Spring/Hibernate
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently, multi-task, and deliver results.
A proactive, self-starter, who is can be relied upon to act on initiative.
Can do attitude - willingness to roll-up the sleeves in order to get things done.
Collaborative style with ability to quickly build trust/credibility.
Knowledge of Oracle / PL-SQL,  JMS and Smart GWT
Graduate from a top university with a Computer Science degree or equivalent experience 
Desirable Skills
Working experience in Agile methodologies and ideally in Financial sector.
Working experince with the following tool sets:
Perforce/GIT for source code control
Confluence, JIRA, UML for project and task tracking
Autosys for batch control
MQ for messaging
Experience with software release/build processes (e.g., Continuous Integration, Automated Deployment, Test Driven Development, etc.)
JBOSS, Springboot
Understanding of Micro-service based architecture.
