CSPT SW Engineer - Java - 90199705

Cash, Settlements and Payments Technology (CSPT) is responsible for supporting and enhancing several applications used for FX and Derivatives Settlements and Payments. Our Prague Development team works with multiple technologies; our primary focus is Java and Relational databases on Linux platform. We enjoy working together and we are willing to share knowledge, everyday joys and occasional miseries. We strive for technical excellence and we are very keen to improve things along the way.
You will be involved in all phases of development lifecycle; from planning and design, through implementation and testing, to overseeing delivery to production.
You will be working closely with other team members on delivering solutions for the priority items identified by our Product Owner, adhering to Barclays and CSPT standards.
Technologies you will use include Java; Spring; Relational databases (MS SQL Server and Oracle DB); JSON and XML; HTML5 (Angular); Development tools such as: Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, Maven, TeamCity, Jira, GIT, Chef, Nolio, JUnit and Jbehave; Cloud Development; Linux (on servers) and Windows (mainly on desktops).
You will also work with other colleagues located in London (mostly Product Owners, Business Analysts, SMEs and PMs) and Pune (mostly developers working on other applications, but also Release management, Testing automation and Environment support teams).
You will be required to provide L3 Support for CSPT applications.
Strong technical and analytical skills
Good English language skills to communicate with multiple international locations
Ability and desire to get involved in all phases of development lifecycle
Working in an Agile Development environment (Scrum/Kanban/XP)
Ability and willingness to take ownership for development tasks within the team and collaborate with relevant colleagues/teams to secure successful acceptance and delivery
Ability to identify feasible options, problem solve and collaborate to get agreement or make necessary decisions
