DHL Express Sweden requires a Business Controller


DHL Express is the world's leading provider of international express services and we are now looking for a Business Controller to our Finance team. The role will report directly to the country CFO.


This Business Controlling role is a combined role, with responsibility for both Commercial Controlling and for the internal control framework for the business. As Business Controller you should possess sound knowledge and understanding of the revenue drivers and key performance indicators of the business, and should act as a business partner, providing financial analysis, insight and recommendations from a commercial perspective to help drive improvement in the business. Furthermore, the role requires knowledge and understanding of business, economic and other drivers that will impact on the business and being able to explain deviations versus plan, forecast and previous periods. Also in scope of this role is ownership, management and responsibility for the internal control framework (CRISP).


Principal accountabilities:


Commercial Controlling
• Analysis of revenue performance, including volume and weight statistics, to understand business trends
• Comprehensive analysis on revenue results, with deep dive by product and by customer
• Close involvement with monthly forecasting and annual budgeting for revenue and volume
• Modelling of customer dynamics (wins/losses, up/down trading) and impacts on our revenue drivers
• Ownership and co-ordination over yield activities within the business
• Work in close co-operation with both the Pricing and Sales team to ensure business trends are clearly presented to and understood by the rest of the business
• Support with target setting for sales commission scheme
• Produce revenue analysis and reporting for the management team, providing insight and recommendations based on the results
• Work together with business functions on specific projects and process improvement initiatives.


Internal Controls (CRISP Framework)
• Ensuring compliance and adherence to the internal “CRISP” framework of controls
• Ownership and maintenance of the CRISP framework for internal controls, including assigning controls, updating and accuracy of control descriptions, evidence compliance


Educational qualifications and expected experience:
• Finance related university degree preferred, alternatively extensive experience in the finance and accounting field or equivalent qualification.
• Prior commercial experience preferred, ideally with background in both sales and finance
• Knowledge and understanding of internal control framework
• Financial reporting and budgeting/forecasting skills
• Strong Microsoft Excel and analytical skills
• Experience of working within an International organisation would be advantageous
• English and Swedish language preferred
