We are currently seeking highly motivated individuals to join the Financial Services Risk Management practise within EY Advisory. The practice focusses on Financial Services across Banking, Insurance, and Corporate treasuries. Our services cover statutory, regulatory, and other quantitative areas both from an advisory and an assurance perspective. This includes risk modelling, pricing and valuation of financial derivatives and structured deals, and credit impairment calculations.
Specific responsibilities:
Risk modelling and stress testing
Design models and methodologies that help managers better understand the sources of value and risk as well as the key financial drivers affecting them
Provide assistance in choosing accurate metrics that support business decisions and facilitate the efficient allocation of risk capital and management of exposure
Measurement and reporting of risk sensitivities
Economic capital modelling
Credit risk modelling for all asset classes (PD, LGD, EAD, RWA)
IFRS 9 modelling
Model review
Hedge effectiveness
Working with clients to assess reliability, accuracy and consistency of models to gain a clearer understanding of their strengths and weaknesses
Evaluate performance, stability and relationships within and between models
Assist clients to benchmark models against industry best practices to provide recommendations on the output of these models against regulatory requirements
Validation of modelling assumptions, inputs and implementation for stress testing and scenario analysis
Review of the interest rate term structure models
Compliance assessment of models
Validation of mortgage repayment and pricing models
Qualifications & Experience:
Qualifications: Relevant Masters (MComm / MSc /MPhil) or Honours degree with the intend to pursue a professional qualification (CFA / FRM / PRM / FIA / FASSA)  - candidate must have a solid understanding of quantitative methods and their application in the FRM space
Market related remuneration
A minimum of 5 years working experience is required
